Apologies in advance if this is in the wrong subforum/format. Not exactly a forum-goer.
Anyway. I've been trying to fix this on my own for a while, to no avail. The problem is exactly what it says - 'Insert CD Drive' doesn't work. This includes reading the actual CD in my CD drive, or mounting a virtual disk on Daemon Tools and running that. The 'Insert CD Image' option works just fine, but on games like Xenogears and FF9 that are prone to freezing and crashing on this option, I'd like the Insert Drive option to function for the sake of my sanity.
For things I've discovered:
1) Both the CD and the CD images open in Windows Explorer with no issues.
2) Running in Administrator, both the emulator and Daemon tools, does nothing.
3) This is only an error on my laptop, but it has an Intel Core i5 CPU and 6g of ram, and runs just as well as my desktop in all other regards, so my computer isn't the issue. Will give extended info if requested.
4) The readme mentions running 'psxfin -x'. I have no idea how to do this, but editing the .ini file for the corresponding drive didn't fix it.
As for the actual error, it opens the menu to select the drive, then selecting E: (my CD drive) or F: (the virtual) causes this pop-up:
"CD Not usable: Unable to read CD with any driver." Click 'OK' on that dialog box, then "CD Not usable: Failed to open file."
PSX version is 1.13, Windows 7, SCPH1001 BIOS, disk image format was MDS/MDF originally, but BIN/CUE gives the same problem, PSX settings are default aside from changing the controller buttons around. The program doesn't crash or error out or show anything in the command box, and continues to work fine if you load from a CD Image. It just refuses to mount Drives. And I have NO idea where to begin on fixing this, so any ideas?
