Okay...? I'm confused here... is he talking about the other thread in the archives? If so, the only reason I archived it was because I didn't feel like overturning Truth's decision to lock (since the thread was basically through with anyway). Archiving in *no* way means it's a junk thread, it just means it's locked. Yeah, there are a few locked threads that I've yet to move to the Archive forum, but that's because I haven't *really* been doing forum maintenance lately, only on the obvious points. IMHO, th3c0r3's overreacting =T

Yeah, he probably is. To tell you the truth, I don't know if this all is enough reason to get pissed off and to leave the forums (I don't know if this is actually true; he may visit the forums as a guest just to see how we're dealing with his dramatic leaving...).

Maybe I'm dumb but I don't get what just happened. Why did he have a fit and leave? Is there something in the prior posts that I missed?
Edit: Sorry, I didn't know that there was second page to this thread and didn't see the other responses but I still don't see a reason to have a fit though.

Well, I guess it's up to pSX Author, now. If he wants to release translated versions officially, good. If not, it's "Game Over" to this thread (as well as to the purpose), with no "continues" left.

I doubt pSX Author would like to see his program disassembled and hacked.

Jeez... he overreacted a little, didn't he? I thought it was a good concept, and he *had* contributed already by showing us that cheating utility that had been made for emulators. Oh well... life will continue on without him I guess...

Even if a Portuguese version was released I would still use the English one Matter of preference I guess.

Sure... When the guy came with all that translating talk, I thought that would be useful for newbies -- both people that don't know a sh*t about emulation and those who ignore English. But I get your point, castilho -- it's way too weird to look at "Save state" and think about that as "Salvar estado"...

Exactly, much more used to english in the gaming ways...That's also why I never played games with a Portuguese IPS.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. I always use English as application language eventhough Finnish is my native. It just makes communicating with developers and friends, reporting bugs and helping out in general so much easier when everyone is on the same page as far as language goes.
And the reason why I said that I would only do official translation is because hacks are bad bad bad.
If at any point in the future Author implements languages, I'll be there, but for now it's just easier for everyone to stick with English.

I guess that's it, though. A lot of the people who use pSX but maybe don't post here much - maybe not at all - they may not even lurk/register - may not be so au fait with English.

Surely a Japanese translation would use full Kanjii, not just Katakana (which afaik is only used for foreign words)?

Yes, Katakana is used for that.
Kanji: I can do that too! ;D
