For the record - I am definately interested in doing translations. I hope to work on this soon.
I am especially interested in doing Japanese and Chinese since we do have quite a few users from these countries (judging by the downloads) and they are far less likely to be able to read english than europeans or americans.
I want to find a way that does not involve too much work though - eg. I don't want to have to maintain a different version of the UI for each language. I have some ideas though.

I'll be glad to help in any way. I also know a little bit of basic Italian. ;D Translating pSX can make this Emulator very world renoun. (most likley, seeing how many different people have downloaded it in other countries )

An external file would probably work nicely, IMHO. In that way, if you don't find the external file, default to English. Otherwise, allow a choice of whatever is in the file. I take this idea from µTorrent's utorrent.lng, which is essentially a .zip file with .txt files in them, one for each language. Naturally, that means you'll have to release a text file with the exact format you read in (exact order, I guess), and all the strings needed to be translated. Much easier than making multiple releases, though, and much easier to add new languages without having to wait for a new version of pSX. Oh, and you should probably keep track of string changes for following releases (if it weren't obvious enough already ) to make it easier for translators.

Ask Mr. Wonderful to explain that. He's messing with the karma system (presumably thinking that we're in the dark about it), so we'll see how determined he is to bring my 31337 karma points to 0, or patrickp's or Gamesoul Master's for that matter. That's a total of 94,011 hours of fun for him. He must be in dire need of a life if he takes the effort to remember to come back every few hours to spite those of us whom he to dislikes for disagreeing with his condescending tone, and/or for locking the thread, effectively destroying his flamebaiting. For the record, I never touched his karma points before today, but since he feels the need to lower the karma points for regular contributors to the forum who have done nothing wrong, he -1053s.

Hmm... I see... They now have 30000000 karma points, too... Well, sorry for this bit of offtopic, but when I first saw that I thought you had put the cure for cancer on a new version of your frontend and I wasn't aware of.

Nah, no biggie, I knew it would surprise the more observant people But I'm just getting my point across to Mr. Invisible: we know who's behind it, and there's no point hiding. If he has a problem, then make it public. Otherwise, get a life and stop abusing the system.[/offtopic]

LMAO! I do, too! I've said it before and I'll say it again - can't we junk the karma points thing, please? It seems to be pretty non-productive on this forum, and it seems to me that karma points type systems either tend to be fairly useless, like here, or they encourage cliques of people whose only concern is to bump up each other's points. Edit: apart from its success at keeping Mr Wonderful occupied, that is...

Horay for ff topic randomness!!!! ;D
Any way, I agree with Ultima, making a .zip with lang files are much easier to make then waiting for new releases.

I'll whip you up a Finnish translation in a whiff when the time comes.
