I have a little problem. I've used codes quite frequently but suddenly the codes just stopped working. I follow the guide that was included in the download but they just have no effect anymore. Can anyone help?

I have discovered the problem here. CEP uses specific information based on the emulator, some of which can be affected by the version of the emulator (depending on what changes to the emulator were made). All of you who can't get CEP to work on v1.9 (which should be everybody), try using it on v1.7. It works. I may go in and try to figure out what affects this and see if I can fix it. Until then, just load the game in v1.7, use whatever cheats you want, save, and switch back to v1.9. Sorry to bring the bad news, but that's the best that can be done until CEP can be adjusted to v1.9. Edit: I *think* this is fixed now. I tested my fix, and it worked for pSX v1.5 - v1.9. Just extract this zip archive to wherever the CEP files are (it will overwrite 2 files). You can back them up if you want (just in case). Included also is a simple text file with instructions on how to use CEP (PLEASE read it before you ask any questions here!). If you have any problems, be sure to ask here. Since the member who offered this to us left, I guess I will do my best to take his place.
This is the direct link to the zip archive containing the updated files: www.fileden.com/files/2006/9/23/234228/CEP%20Update.zip
Keep in mind that this program *is* limited. Read CEP.TXT to see the types of codes that CEP supports. Good luck, and happy cheating!

I'm sorry to say but the fix isn't working for me. I was using cheats for Mobile Suit Gundam Ghiren's Greed Blood of Zeon successfully Up until this point. CEP just stopped having an effect on my game. I am very confused about this...

You read the instructions and tried the things I recommended trying?

Yes I did. What really confuses me is that it was working before and suddenly stopped.

That's really weird. I just did a small fix (not really a "fix"... just changed it so you have to search the base address). So... it's uploaded to the same link... just download it, read the instructions that came with it (follow them word for word), and try again. Maybe this will work a little better...

Sorry to report that it hasn't worked. Is there another trainer out there I can use? Maybe I'll find something out there.

Yeah... that's what I've been hearing. No good... I'm not sure why it should work for me, but not for y'all. A friend here actually tried the same exact codes with the same games, and he couldn't get them to work either. And I trust his credibility, so... I'm in the dark on this one. I'll start looking for another hacking utility... maybe one that's easier to use and more compatible than this one...
Edit: Haven't found any other utility yet, but did make another fix to the CEP Update files. Probably won't help, but it was worth trying. I widened the search parameters for the base address a bit... using the new settings, CEP still works for me. It's frustrating... I keep thinking that if I was there next to y'all when you're trying this, I'd figure out a way to get it to work...

How about someone make a cheat utility designed for pSX like Ultima did with his frontend that's similar to the CEP? Maybe it's easier said than done though...

Yupperz... easier said than done. I don't know if others would have an easier time of it, but I would either need the source code to the emulator (which I will never ask for... just saying) or a utility or two that can identify/work with memory addresses... Basically, I probably don't have the skill to pull it off. I'd almost definitely have to include a utility that can convert the various types of codes to standard hex addresses, which would simplify the utility a lot more (no need to decode any of those codes). I'll look into it.
Any other capable programmers out there interesting in taking up CloudOfSmoke's idea?

Too bad th3c0r3 just up and left. Apparently he was the one who originally modified it for pSX.

Gamesoul Master whatever you did on the last fix it worked. The codes are working fine so far, I'll keep you updated if anything happens. Thanks ALOT for the effort man.
