ok, i'm new to psx, but not that new to PSX emus.
Here is how I typed in the codes for cep EXACTLY as I put them in: "Enable Code (MUST be on)" C1000000 0000 D0061CA4 0010 80061CAC 0004 D0061CA4 0010 80061CAE AC62 D0061CA4 0010 80061CB0 0001 D0061CA4 0010 80061CB2 2442 D0061CA4 0010 80061CB4 000C D0061CA4 0010 80061CB6 AC62 D0061CA4 0010 80061CB8 0001 D0061CA4 0010 80061CBA 2442 D0061CA4 0010 80061CBC 0008 D0061CA4 0010 80061CBE AC62 D0061CA4 0010 80061CC0 0009 D0061CA4 0010 80061CC2 1000 D0061CA4 0010 80061CC4 0010 D0061CA4 0010 80061CC6 AC60
"Infinite Fol" 8009BFB0 C9FF 8009BFB2 3B9A
"Infinite SP Usage" 8007EA96 2400
"Gain 65,535 Exp. Per Battle (All Characters)" D0086510 1021 8008650C FFFF D0086510 1021 8008650E 3404
.end
I followed both the tutorial.htm and the cep text tutorial in the recent update. These are for Star Ocean 2nd Story btw. (game is english version, got the codes from cmgsccc).
When it says "make sure the game is fully loaded before opening cep", does that mean loaded to the menu or actually loaded into a saved game? If I open a saved state before opening cep, or after opening cep, should the cheats still work?

It shouldn't matter either way... I merely say "in the loaded game" as a precautionary tactic. Are you saying that none of these codes work? I'll go test Star Ocean then... (one of my favorite RPG's for the PS1). Before I do anything though, I should mention that you'll never need an enable code, as far as I know. At least, out of the games that I've tested that had enable codes, none of them needed them, nor did they help in any way. Also... I can almost guarantee that Exp code won't work, just from looking at it. But... those type do occasionally work (there seems to be some other factor that's at play that I don't know about for codes like that). As for Silent Hill... I hadn't responded yet cuz I was looking for my copy of the game. It's driving me nuts cuz it's one of the last PS1 games I picked up, and after playing it for a few days, I went on to play something else. I haven't seen the game since then (even more irritating is that I could've swore I saw the case somewhere in the last couple weeks). Anyway... don't count on me being able to find the game, but I'll try to dig up some codes that will possibly work. Just to ask... have you tried any codes for it yet? I don't need the specific codes... just what they do and possibly where you got them... if you tried any. Edit: I should probably add that yes, you did type those codes in correctly.
Edit 2: Well, tested a few codes, but something made me stop and decide to post here. I tested those codes (minus the enable code of course), and they didn't work. Then I changed the infinite fol code to a max fol code... and that didn't work either. Then, when I did a base address search again (I did the first one after loading my save file)... it gave me a completely different address! I've never seen that happen before. But when I tried enabling the codes using that new address, nothing happened... until I tried entering a battle, when I got this screen:
Can anybody tell me *where* that screen is from?!? I have no idea why it came up, but that's where the game basically "froze".

Yeah, I was getting that message with epsxe (which I was using before psx). Only happened when I went into a battle. Also, my saved state in epsxe was corrupted and froze every time I tried to move using my usb controller.
Obviously I don't NEED the codes to play and enjoy Star Ocean or any game, but it adds a bit of fun if you've beaten the games before. Not having to worry about money or equiptment means more attention can be put into enjoying the actual playing of the game.
If you find anything else out about those cheats, let me know!!

Unfortunately, th3c0r3 left the forum only a few weeks after joining, kinghanco. We never managed to figure out quite why; it was a bit odd. Possibly Gamesoul Master can help you; he's been getting CEP to work better with pSX since th3c0r3 left.

::Sigh::... I guess I better get caught up on this stuff... XD
Ugh... I gotta get Xebra to run at *all* first... it's certainly the opposite of pSX, in that it seems you have to set everything just right before you can use the damn thing. You might wanna check over at the Emuforums for help too, as there are a lot more Xebra users over there. But... I will see if I can accomplish something with it.
Star Ocean... got one code to work, but finding it hard to get it to work again.

Play with it... toggle everything multiple times... do base address searches a couple times... whatever.

Does anyone know where i can find codes for FF9 (US NTSC) and how can i use them with CEP, been trying different codes since yesterday, non of them work. I guess im not doing it right.
Yes before i forget, do i have to use cep on the first cd or can i use the codes on whichever cd i use. Please also explain when you say that wait until the game loads and then open cep.exe, do you mean when the game menu pops up or is it when you load up a saved game. Thanks

"Load" as in "past the PlayStation logo" -- it doesn't really matter when the cheats come into effect after that. If the codes aren't working, then chances are, it's just CEP being its flaky self, and there might not be much you could do about that. Real cheat discs for PlayStation have been reported to work, so if you have one, you could always try that.

So the second link is pretty much like the first? I thought the second was a step by step procedure taking you through the download? If the second link is it...then good looking out!
