Meh I'm not sure about anyone else, but I personally have no problems with ProBoards. Yep, the occasional slowdowns are a bit of a bother, but other than that, it works just fine. With regards to flexibility, I don't find the system too limiting. Things have been fine without FTP space on these boards for this long (and the same on other forums I've participated in), so it hasn't been much of a bother to me, personally. Doesn't matter to me what's chosen, though. I'm just along for the ride

TheCloudOfSmoke: Well... you see, I find it to be a superior situation if we stay here. Like Ultima has said, there is really no problems here that *I* can see, although I'm just a normal user. But... I'm not gonna fight a move if you admins decide that's what we're gonna do. Because... most of the relevant points in making the decision are solely with y'all. I will do my best with whatever decision is made... it is well known that I am here to stay for as long as there is still at least one other person using pSX... I think Mika is right on both points. That is most of what I would be doing, in helping to move all those threads over. And before anybody tries to call me devious, I will offer to have my post count reset once all the relevant threads are moved over. The other point... would actually be a plus of sorts. We would all start from scratch. Day 1 for all of us. Active posters will regain their post counts quickly, and it'll be a full clean-out of old members, pretty much like a fresh-install of an OS... always good to have every once-in-a-while.

::Sigh:: ... Me and patrickp won't be *too* upset... XD Speak for yourself, GM - I was deified for a while, you know! Not to mention that, at your present rate, you're _not_ going to break the kilopost barrier before I do... Pssh, special group. Active members will get their post count back in no time. ;D Well the ones who only have 160 posts will - me & GM could do that standing on our heads while Ultima turns his back for a minute... Just taking the Mika! Seriously though, as the highest poster on the forum except for the Almighty Ulti-mate Admin, I don't give a monkey's about post counts, apart from the fact that we've had some really good laughs out of them at one time or another. There are plenty of people here with low post counts who are very worthwhile members (naming no Mikas...), and some with more who aren't - I would lose no sleep whatsoever if post counts went the way of karma... Edit: yes, I really like the "fresh-install of an OS" comparison...

About two years ago (Jul 2004) a site/forum I frequently visit changed forum software from their own custom cgi thing (which was very broken in many aspect, most regrettably all admin controls were busted) to vbulletin. My beautiful 6700+ was a terrible loss, and I made a rememberance day for it. ;D I also like the "fresh install of an OS" analogy. All in all, I don't think there is a lot of truly important information outside of the stickies, and the currently active bug reports. And as was suggested, there is no reason why this proboards forum couldn't stay here for archiving bugs, for example. I personally dislike proboards (and generally all freehosted things similar to it) because they usually lack useful features, and lack even more in the configuration apartment. Or I could be just crazy, and all that.

How come I'm always the last one to figure out when someone changes their name ? I just realized out that Mika was really Herra .

Don't feel bad... I found out yesterday, while looking through the former "pSX Frontends" thread... and I saw his posts and was like "HEY! That's Herra! I remember him!" XD I guess I've been too distracted lately, which would explain my lower posting rate... ::sigh:: LOL

Heh. I changed my display name after the 1.10 came out with the translations. I suppose I could have asked Author to put my name in the readme as Mika "Herra" Heiska but oh well. ;D This all makes me wonder how many of you have hidden user signatures and avatars? My sig is still the same old (except that I bought a domain so the links are a bit different now), and my Betelgeuse avatar I changed just a whort while ago. This is actually one feature that I rarely see in other forum softwares. Which is good, because usually it just creates confusion.

Haha that would explain GM's previous near-confrontation with you in your bug report -- I thought he knew, and was surprised he was telling you to search the forums and stuff xD Any time I see a name I don't recognize, but the person has a bunch of posts, it's a pretty clear sign that someone's messing with their display name

That was also the reason why I snapped as well. You know, "I'm a regular member, how dare he treat me like this!" EDIT: Just for anyone who might be wondering, "Herra" is Finnish word for "Mister".

Yeah... I didn't notice the post count until it was too late. The sig... is not nearly unique enough for me to associate with anybody. And if the avatar *was* the same at that time... then I guess I just didn't make the connection. And then it changed, making me completely forget what it used to be.
Once I *did* notice the post count, I found myself questioning how I missed him getting that far, but never remembered to check who he used to be. Foolish on my part... I apologize again for that situation.

XD You've had a name change here yourself, GM! Hm, maybe I should have one, too - everyone else seems to be doing it! Well, you've been having a posting frenzy today, haven't you? Even if it's not your traditional '100 posts per day...' ;D

Meh... I've been doing better lately. Not getting so stressed out from work and stupid friends. So... I've had a little more motivation to speak up again, just as I used to.
My name change... probably the biggest unnoticed thing to happen here at that time... XD

I apologize again for that situation. I recall having the same sitation with you when you were hoshikuzu. All of a sudden the guy hoshikuzu who make 100 posts in his first week just disappeared and this new guy named Gamesoul Master appeared. I was wondering how you got like 300 posts at the time when I've never seen you post up until the time that I first saw you. The only thing that was the same was your Chuck Norris joke sig but I didn't make the connection and you also changed your avatar so I thought you were a new person. The name change thing did come in handy for me. I accidentally mispelled TheCloudOfSmke or something similar during sign up but luckily I was able to change it to the right spelling in my profile.

Your display name actually is the same as your login name right now -- without the capitalization xD
