I figured since it was the start of the new year and since 1.13 has been the time honored release, I figured I would ask if there has been any word other than the last rumors that pSXAuthor had passed a copy of the sources off to few people (last I heard was someone at emuforums) and was still working on the project but at a slower pace.
Just figured I'd ask if any of the staff here had heard anything yet.

I for one think pSX is dead, so I wouldn't expect a new version. But thats just MY speculation, and I MAY be wrong.

Yeeah, I don't have any expectations for this project to ever revive itself. If the source has been passed along, maybe something rises of the ashes at some point, but I'm managing my expectations. It's really quite unfortunate, considering how well it came along for a good while. And considering what a sad mess all the psemupro plugin based emulators kind of are. I'm kind of half following the pcsx-reloaded development, but it would be a shame if the current state of PlayStation emulators is the last we'll see. Meanwhile PCSX2 and Dolphin are chugging along quite nicely. It would stand to reason that PSX is probably less complicated system than PS2 or GameCube/Wii, so I'm still kind of half hoping that at some point the people who know what they are doing with this stuff pool their knowledge and hammer out a new and fresh, open source PSX emu. There's probably a lot of garbage code in those old old projects that would take million years to sort through, rewrite and prune. But I'm just rambling. Also, hi. I think my yearly visit was overdue, so here I am.

This is what he last wrote. Seems to me 1.14 is completed, but he hasn't been around since late 2009 to post it.
A real shame. Does anyone know what is going on?

AFAIK most of the actual source was contributed to the MESS project so as I once stated, if you rip the PSX source code out of MESS, add in a GUI and all the other APIs needed, you'd have a working emulator.
However, getting some actual contact from pSXAuthor on this matter would help clarify issues.
