I'm not part of the group of people who have tested pSX under Wine, but I have to ask... what's "crap" like?

And what version of Wine are you using? 0.9.27 just came out recently.

Apparently (from what I saw on the web somewhere), they were only showing v1.0 as being compatible. I don't know what's up with that at all. All I could say is... have you tried using v1.0 and going from there?

1.0 gives less errors but to the same effect this is the ONLY windows program i want to work and it sucks because compared to linux Psx emulators this program is leaps and bounds better

Odd. I wonder if Mika or patrickp can confirm this... IINM, they dual-boot Windows with some Linux distribution.

I'm dual-booting Ubuntu ATM, but I've never tried any Windows emulators, so I can't say.

Wine isn't a Windows emulator though =X It's simple to install. Just visit www.winehq.org and follow the download instructions for Ubuntu. Afterwards, download pSX, extract it, put the BIOS and stuff in there, then from terminal type in wine FULL_PATH_TO_pSX (where you replace FULL_PATH_TO_pSX with the correct path, naturally ). Some people might tell you that you need to run winecfg before actually using wine, but I've never found that to be the case. Uninstalling using Synaptic should be simple too. Afterwards, if you want to remove remaining traces of Wine, just remove ~/.wine.

Well, I'm not that familiar with it - I'll give it a go, sometime! Although it does rather make me think of vegetarians who have eat stuff that's made to resemble meat...

Wine Is Not an Emulator I'm not actually running a dualboot WinXP & Suse anymore. Haven't had the time to install it after I installed this new HD and made it all fresh and stuff. So, I can't test it.

I recently switched to Kubuntu completely. I'm not using windows at all, and for me, pSX is a little buggy (random crashes when accessing the menu, the menu bar is solid black, but you can click on it and everything shows up), but it still works rather well. The only major problem I've had with it is my PSX to USB adapter doesn't work right. when i go to calibrate it, and i click on a button, all the entries fill up with axis6. Honestly, i can't wait till the pSX Arthur gets done with the linux port...He is still doing it, right?
