"makes things 100% easier then going into the cmd console and doing all those lines."
My question was, whats the point of cdztool at all ? Isnt it that much better to just pack the image real good with 7zip executable, and then just unpacking it when you want to play ? Oh, sure, there are some maniacs who play the game for 10 minutes and plug in next one, maybe cdztool is useful for such people.

But it is good for you. Learning how to use CMD is a brainstorm. I was an idiot about CMD things before for a long time ago and I learned a lot from it. It is good for some that do not have qui or never will have qui. So, that is the best chance to learn from it as well. heh, most people who used computers before Windows know how to use CMD - it was the "user interface" of msdos. Ah, the lovely days of having to edit the Autoexec.bat file (and then reboot) for every game... One of them needed mouse.com preloaded, an other one didn't have enough conventional memory free to run even if i unloaded it later on, etc. On the other hand, that machine could reboot a hundred times at least by the time i start up my current winxp box.

With real bad compression and slower-than-normal access times ? Some logic, huh ?

I just found this emulator after seeing a link for it on another site. All I can say it: f'n WOW! To date, I've used epsxe for playstation emulation, and while I'd gotten used to dealing with the myriad of plugins, it's still very annoying. So, to have a PSX emu, even early on, that runs stuff, runs it well, and doesn't require a plugin for almost every aspect of emulation... It. Plain. F'n. Rocks. Keep up the excellent work. I'd toss suggestions out there, but I'm sure most of them have already been suggested or are on some sort of 'To Do List'.

USE ALCHOL 120 OR DAEMON TOOL TO MOUNT THE IMAGE THEM YOU CAN USE CDRWIN TO CONVERT THE MOUNTED IMAGE TO A COMPATIBLE BIN/CUE FORMAT!!! IT DOES WORK. EVEN IF YOU HAVE BIN/CUE FILES IT WILL MAKE THEM COMPATIBLE!! OR YOU CAN USE CDRWIN TO RIP THE GAME STRAIGHT OFF THE CD IN LIKE 30 SECS THE ONLY PROBLEM YOU MIGHT HAVE IS WITH GAMES THAT NEED PPF PATCHES TO GET PAST THE SCEA BLACK SCREEN USE PPF-O-MATIC www.megagames.com/psx/psx_ppf.shtmlAND GOOGLE THE PPF FILES FOR THE GAME YOUR TRYING TO PATCH HERE IS SOME PPF FILES AT THE SITE LISTED BELOW www.ngemu.com/psx/misc.php?action=ppf

I only wish that this emulator had graphics as good as petes opengl2 plugin as the graphics were sweet
Epsxe is horrible compared to psxeven
Although psx1.2 puts both of them to shame in most cases
Use psxeven w/petes opengl2 plugin if the game doen't play in psx or if you want to see what it would look like with realy good graphics
Also you don't have to patch games with ppf files to be able to play them on psxeven and the cd plugin for that gives you the option of loading the file exteranly if need be
Even without filtering the opengl2 plugin produces sweet graphics

I wonder if this emulator will one day be able to play ps2 games That would be sweet especialy since the best ps2 emulator out to date has like a 1 in 10 shot of actualy booting the game mutch less being playable the pcsx2 emulator has had numerous news updates but no new release in almost a year
There is a ps2 mode switch in psx and it has an option to load the ps2 bios although it doesn't work very well.

I don't know why I'm bothering to post this because it will just end up getting asked over and over again. PS2 emulation will not be feasible for another 10 years at the LEAST. Even if accuracy were perfect, it will still take a 20ghz computer to run at a decent speed. It could be more. This is not an exaggeration, so you can stop dreaming here and now and save yourself A LOT of time and grief.

It should also be pointed out, and it's been stated many times before, that there are no plans to introduce hardware rendering using OpenGL or DirectX. The author wants to remain as close to the original PSX graphics as he possibly can, and that means using software rendering. The best that can be hoped for (and personally I prefer software rendering, it avoids a lot of jarring graphical glitches and provides better compatibility) is a scanline option and similar minor graphical adjustments.
ePSXe is a great option if you want to do the rendering with your graphics card. pSX is there for those that want a more 'authentic' graphical experience.
