Can we make it so that booting into the BIOS is an option in future versions? I'm sick of hearing the startup chime every time I open the emulator. It wouldn't be so bad if I only heard it when I was booting into a game.

This has been requested before several times, heavensblade23. pSX Author must be aware of it; if he wants to implement it, he will.
Personally, I like the Playstation screens on startup. They're one of the things that distinguishes pSX from other Playstation emulators.

Eh I think what heavensblade23 meant was that the emulator shouldn't start emulating immediately once the emulator opens, which I can imagine to be annoying -- it sorta got to me when I was messing with the settings while screwing around, testing changes I made to the frontend.
If this does come, though, I would suggest that pSX Author also add a commandline option to start emulation immediately as well (for current behavior), so that the frontend and shortcuts can continue to work even if the option heavensblade23 is asking for is enabled (with a tiny bit of modification).

Well, I think it'd be much preferably to have a commandline option to *not* load the BIOS immediately upon starting the emulator. The default action should stay the intended action, as BIOS loading every time is Playstation hardware behaviour, and so of course, if pSX Author ever gave into this request, I'd imagine that he would feel the same, that the current behaviour stay default. That way, all you have to do is create a shortcut with the commandline to not load the BIOS and use that shortcut during testing and setting runs.
But a good idea overall, as I many times have started the emulator simply to test my or Ultima's frontend, or for other testing purposes, without any intention of running a game.

What about an option to autoload the CD drive or emulated CD drive rather than having to do it manually?

Auto-loading a CD drive or image is already supported via the commandline.

Or via Ultima's Frontend.
