Is it possible to emulate the PlayStation link cable between two PCs over a LAN or the Internet? Has it been tried in other emulators? I haven't seen it discussed or tried before.

You've got me on that one. I suppose that implementing online play with the emulator would be the same thing, since you'd have to *somehow* get the game to let it happen, and the only way I can think of to easily make the games allow it would be to fool them into thinking there's a link cable hooked up. Either that or somehow make it work so that the game thinks that the other person playing is actually just in other controller slots. But the first way sounds easier.
But to answer your question more directly... it sounds about the same as implementing online play. Don't quote me on that though, I'm no expert. I'm sure someone more wise to the topic will come along and better answer your question... LOL.

The way I see it is, this would be perfectly possible as long as pSX Author can get the actual link cable functionality emulated. The rest is just a case of networking, which would be outside of the emulation itself.
