to the coders : great emulator. I was looking for another emulator (epsxe was usin 100% of one of my cores... drivin me insane) and found this. Only uses 4% of one core off and on (C2D E6300 clocked to 3Ghz with a gig of ram) and its VERY nice graphically.
Well to the suggestion ... have an option to speed up the play without having to hold a key down. Or make it possible to have a key on the controller toggle the speed-up on/off.

Hmm... only coder here is pSX Author. We try to help with testing and such the best we can, but without pSX Author there'd be no pSX at all. As for your suggestion... Might've been good to read the Known Requests thread first... though I'm glad to see it made again, even being against the rules, since I'd *really* like to see the option to set Fast Forward to a controller button or at least an option to toggle it on/off. And many other people feel the same way. It's great to hear that pSX has pleased you so much. It certainly has grown to be one of the greatest PS1 emulators available, and it's still getting better. Capability of running on machines that no other PS1 emulator can handle (read: my old beast was just that... old) is what attracted me to this emulator in the first place, and then using it... I fell in love And of course... welcome to the forums

Capability of running on machines that no other PS1 emulator can handle Gamesoul, pSX works perfect with a Pentium III with 800 Mhz, 64 MB of RAM, a Matrox G450 video board with 32 MB and with a NEC DVD drive 6x

Yup... that's exactly my point. I'd love to see somebody find any other PS1 emulator that could run a game on that machine and actually call it *playable* (a 320x240 resolution really doesn't count, but even that wouldn't help enough). stranger90: If it would not be too much trouble, could you possibly give a more detailed report for that machine in this thread? It'd be very much appreciated ^^

In answer to your original question, bahamut200220002, there's a program around called JoyToKey that lets you map keyboard keys to controller buttons. You won't be able to toggle it, though. You'll need to google for JoyToKey.
Fast forward is also one of the functions in pSX that can be assigned to different keys on the Misc tab in configuration.
Edit@stranger90: what OS are you running on that machine?
