Well if pSX Author plans to emulate the Network Card on the PS2, this BIOS would have that data. I think there is more, but maybe not that much.

Maybe it dumps the dvd drivers, ps1 drivers, etc... Doesn't the BIOS itself only contain the commands and instructions for interacting with these?

Maybe these new BIOS could be also used for PS1 emulation in pSX? They might result in a better compatibility.

I don't think so, seeing as the real PS2's compatibility with PS1 games is not 100% (however it's a very high %, I think; I've tried many PS1 games on my PS2 over the course of two and a half years and so far only 1 failed). Sony themselves state it in the PS2's manual.

yes this is what we called gimmick, the gamecude game dvd cannot fit in your pc dvd. ps2 cannot load ps1 unless it is your D-I-Y modding it.:-)
