This request was made here, to give a point of reference.
The request is for volume changes to be saved upon exiting, instead of reverting back to 100 every time the emulator is started again. Fairly simple (just retrieving/saving a single variable, I'd imagine) and much more useful than it reverting every time the emulator is exited. Changing it every time can definitely be annoying, especially when you find a good volume, and then the next time you play, you don't remember what it was and you have to figure it out again.
My own follow-up request to that one is to allow volume to go above 100. I'm pretty sure something like this was discussed (relating to why it wasn't going happen, I think), but I really do think there would be times where it would be useful. There could even be an option to allow/unallow going above 100 (something like "Allow volume to exceed standard maximum levels"), for people who absolutely don't want their volume to exceed the normal limit.
I do understand that the follow-up request could cause clipping and other sound problems if pushed too high, but maybe just the ability to go up to 150 or something, for scenes/games that get too quiet (especially useful when you're using headphones and thus don't have a hardware volume control, as changing software volume doesn't go well when you have optimal levels set already).
I'm obviously pushing much more for the first request, as it would be much easier to do and wouldn't mess up anything like the second one might be considered to do.
