More and more people switch to 64 bit Linux systems from 32 bit. So 64 bit version of pSX would be very nice.

See dfreer's How-To install pSX on Ubuntu AMD64/x86 stickied thread, thesource. AFAICS the problem on 64 bit is not the emulator, it's the libraries. And a version that takes advantage of the capabilities of a 64 bit CPU would be a bit pointless, since a processor that fast would already run pSX at full speed. I would suspect pSX Author may start considering options like that when he releases a version that includes workable Playstation 2 emulation.

I don't have problems installing pSX on x64. It works fine. I just suggest to compile pSX in two versions for the sake of the performance. 32 bit apps are emulated on 64bit system so they work slower. It is no matter for pSX on fast CPU's (at least for now), but ePSXe's performance drops significantly. What I'm trying to say is that 64bit version will certainly be needed in not so far future.

As I said, a 64 bit version is unlikely to be needed for pSX until pSX Author gets round to incorporating a working Playstation 2 emulator, as the emulator should run easily at full speed on any 64 bit processor, as you yourself agree. And this is not an ePSXe forum: you could try posting this in the official ePSXe forums, but you probably know how likely any new version of ePSXe is. And as to whether he'll produce a 64 bit version for PS2 emulation - I would have thought he must have considered the possibility and will do so if it's practical.
