Hello. I'm a huge fan of pSX; I was won over by the ability to play Final Fantasy VII without slowdown. Chrono Cross runs smoothly with Frame Skipping on, as well. (Which ePSXe could never do.) It has inspired me to switch, and I thought I'd share a suggestion that came to mind. The Topic Title says it all, but I'll elaborate: Have an option to load the last used CD Image upon restart. That'd take away some monotony that could arise when playing longer games in small spurts. (Such as a Squaresoft [Now Square-Enix] RPG from the mid-to-late 90's.) Thank you for reading!

That's what the rest of us do!

Still, a "Recent..." type menu would be cool to have in pSX.

Yeah. Having this option on pSX itself would be better. Some of us don't like to use frontends, you know...

I haven't even seen any of the front-ends.
It's not that I have anything against using a front-end, I just don't play enough different games on pSX to warrant the use of one.
At the moment I'm playing mostly Mr. Driller and Tomb Raider 2...and a bit of Puzzle Bobble on the side.

Actually, I don't even use any of the profile functionality in Ultima's pSX Frontend. I tend to play games rather randomly, and the reason I wrote the initial frontend around here was to be able to make changes easily and without restarting pSX for some of them to take effect, and eventually do the things that Ultima's frontend does. Resizing the window precising was one of them. Another thing is that when you tell it where a disc is, it remembers when you load it next time. So many times, all I do is start up the frontend and hit "Run pSX". And since I have it set to close upon running, it ends up being a lot faster and convenient than doing it the long way. In that way, there is absolutely no reason to *not* use it.
I haven't tested to see if Ultima implemented setting the memory cards through psx.ini instead of the commandline, but I keep thinking he didn't. And since my cards all have spaces in their names, they can't be set through commandline. For that reason, I sometimes use my frontend instead (I added more features to it since it was last seen). I'm usually not a frontend kind of guy, but when making changes usually amounts to restarting pSX or resetting it, I like being able to avoid hassles like that if there's a simpler way.

You can generally set filenames with spaces for command line tools by enclosing the name in quotes. If your file is "final fantasy 7.mcr" for the memory card, well.. use the quotes as noted. That should get it working.

I tried that back when I made the request... it doesn't work with his frontend.
Meh, nevermind. He did actually fix it in his last release (I'd imagine he has it set through psx.ini, since he mentioned having problems passing the memory card through commandline, even with quotes... but I'm not sure).
