well, version 1.3 fixed cloud's attak sound, but the sound when you win a battle is still the same(it's like the background music has a higher volume than it should...

I'm not really sure what you mean... at the start of the game the music doesn't change when you win a battle (eg: in the video that was posted). So I'm guessing you mean later in the game? If so, what exactly do you mean? When you win a battle it just plays a piece of music...

Here is a recording (from pSX) of the end of a battle later in the game (a battle in the Wutai mountains) : psxemulator.gazaxian.com/ff7_battle_end_pSX.mp3Is that what you mean? (btw: has anyone ever noticed that the sawtooth sounding synth line on the right is the background music from the old arcade game Xevious? I wonder if that was intentional, or just a coincidence?).

well, i've already said it above:
i mean, i hear the background music at a higer volume than the non-background one... and in the fight i hear it like that too kinda hard to explain

Hi together!
First of all, thank you for this wonderful emulator. Like everybody else here I am also testing FF7 on my system. But this new release is somehow more buggy to me than the others. Don´t get me wrong, FF Tactics is running smooth and much better and Front Mission 3 is perfect as always, but FF7 starts to misbehave totally. It starts with weird noises in the intro, like glitches, and then, when the first fight starts, it totally freezes. In version 1.2 everything is working very good, except the known sound issues.
I also get a total crash when I am trying to configure my gamepad as well. I know, it´s the wrong thread for this but I thought it is worth mentioning.
Maybe someone here has a few ideas regarding this behavior. Thanks in advance.
Cya
My specs are: AMD 2400XP+, 1 Gig RAM, ATI 9600 Pro, Epox 8RDA+ Motherboard (NForce 2), Speedlink Rattlesnake USB Gamepad.

Sounds like you may have a scratched CD/broken rip? It works fine for me - I just played through the first section of the game with no problems...

The new version is showing GREAT improvement. With a few minor tweaks and some fine-tuning it'll be perfect.

Maybe you´re right. I will make an new image as soon as I have some time for it. I report to you when I´m done with it. ----
Made a new image and now it works. Seems to me, that I had a corrupted image before.

Envelope (I'm guessing) might still be wrong on some sounds. Many sound effects are playing longer than they should and leaking into one another. The sound when you finish loading or saving a memory card file is probably one of the easier spots to notice this. Most weapon strikes (primarily "critical hits") seem to be exhibiting this phenomenon as well. It also seems as if channels seem to be going into and out of their "reeverb" state unusually during some of the music. These are just some observations I've made. In the past few weeks when I got back to the game.
