I've started playing Persona (SLUS-00339) with pSX (v1.5, SCPH-1001, default settings) and have encountered a minor problem. The audio stops completely at random points during FMV sequences. Keep in mind that this is NOT because of pressing the fast-forward key, the sound just stops. I also tested it with pSX 1.4 and the problem is also present. I haven't tried it with versions older than 1.4 though. I'm pretty sure it's not a problem with the image I have because it's an error-free copy according to CDmage. Also, there seems to be no problem present concerning Persona with pSX 1.1 according to the pSX Compatibility List. I've found a way to get around the problem though: quicksaves. Since the audio stops at random parts of the FMV sequences, I just quicksave while the FMV is running and the audio is still fine and quickload if the audio disappears.

If you could go back and test this game with 1.1-1.3, I'd really appreciate it. It's hard to say if a new problem has been created along the way for this game, but at this point, the only thing we can try and do is pin it down to which version of pSX the problem started. And if the problem also occurs for you with version 1.1? Well, that's when I recommend seeing if somebody else can test the game too, just for the sake of comparison.

Ok, here are the results of my testing:
1.0 - No problem 1.1 - No problem 1.2 - No problem 1.3 - Audio stops completely at random points during FMV sequences 1.4 - Audio stops completely at random points during FMV sequences 1.5 - Audio stops completely at random points during FMV sequences
Something must have changed in the transition from 1.2 to 1.3 that causes this problem. I would also appreciate it if anyone who has a copy of Persona (NTSC-U) can also test this and report the results. Just watch any FMV sequence completely (watch the opening if you don't want to play into the game itself) and if the audio stops, then you're experiencing the same problem as me.
