Hi
Iam using Alcohol 120 to back up my PSX collection to my PC and most of the time i dont have any problems. However, certain games I wont get the option to rip them. When i go into Image Making Wizard it usually lists the sessions on the disc, but certain games i dont get anything except a number in the session field, but no info on the session. Also the next button is greyd out so i cant continue to rip them. Any idea why this is ? How can i back them up ?
Two games i have had this problem with is Rollcage and Resident Evil 2.
I have searched around the web and this forum, but i havent seen anyone else with this problem.
Thanks.

I haven't used Alcohol 120, so I don't know how it performs on copy protection, shodan, but it's possible they are copy protected games. If it is a copy protection issue, you'll probably need CloneCD ( www.slysoft.com/en/) or CDRWin( www.goldenhawk.com/) to make a good image, and then you'll need a patch to enable you to play it in pSX Emu. Make sure, if this is the case, that you match the patch to the exact game you have. Try somewhere like www.megagames.com/ for patches.

In Alcohol 120%, did you set the datatype as 'Playstation'?
Something worth trying before you try other burning/ripping software:
It's possible that your CD drive simply can't read the CD's you mention. Then it wouldn't matter what software you used to back them up.
Did you try running the problematic games in an emulator? If they work with pSX or ePSXe or whatever, then the problem is not with your CD drive.

thanks for replies i tried using CloneCD and it worked no problems. I rip the CD then to *.img files and use Daemon tools to mount them before using Alchol to convert them to *.bin *.cue files. Works great now! thanks. it seems like it was the copy protection
