I've tried loading the .bin file, the .cdz file, the .cue, and tried burning the ISO to a disk and loading the drive.
I've got pSX 1.4 with the spch1001 bios. I originally had FF7 in .img format (as well as .ccd and .sub files). I used MagicISO to convert to .bin. When that didn't work I tried a patch from mega games. When that didn't work I used MagicISO to convert the original file to .iso this time. Burned that image to a CD with DropToCD. No success.
To be specific, the game apparently does load, but fails to get past the second screen (the screen after the bios orange diamond thing).

Hi All I just wanted to say I got final fantasy 7 to work on my psx 1.4 I used the bios of 1001 plus you got to rename the img file to bin file and it will work this is how it works download it then right click on title then put at the end of the title type in bin instead of img and it should work make sure you use backspace to erase the img subject other than that is all I know!

Although this may have worked, I'd recommend mounting such .img files instead of just deleting the file association, image files (depending on the program you use to make them) can differ, and just renaming it could screw with something, for lack of a better term, you'd be better off just mounting the images via Daemon Tools to make sure of full functionality, would suggest a conversion utility... but I haven't used them so I don't know how well they actually convert the files. Just advice for the future.

I find burnatonce from www.burnatonce.com/index.htm?news is a good freebie for ripping .iso/.bin files, either from CDs or images, yerlanthien. No good on copy protected stuff, of course.
