The gamma et all settings don't fully work for me. If, for example, gamma is set to 5 from the config when I start the emu up and go fullscreen, it doesn't have any effect. If, however, I change the gamma from numpad while already in fullscreen, it will work.
Does that make sense?

What you say makes sense. I just tried adjusting the settings (since I never bother to touch them otherwise), and I had no effect fullscreen *or* windowed. Basically, those bars have no effect for me no matter what I do. Furthermore, using the numpad shortcut keys did nothing in windowed mode, but they *did* work in fullscreen mode.

Yeah, that's pretty much the same for me. I didn't test in windowed mode, but now that you mention it, it's the same here.

I went back and decided to test it on every version possible. It was first implemented in v1.4, and from v1.4 - v1.8wip, the problem is exactly the same. Basically, it *never* worked right. Has anybody even noticed yet besides us?
Edit: I ran a quick search and noticed that it has been reported before, but the report was rather unclear in what exactly was wrong (like *when* exactly it didn't work). There was no response on the post either.

Yeah, i noticed the same problem with the gamma/contrast/brightness option. It "NEVER" worked right since it was implemented. In windowed mode doesnt work, and in fullscreen only works when you configure in fullscreen mode. Also, if you move the bars to change it from the default option, you must enter fullscreen and then press each one of the buttons that control the gamma/contrast/brightness option. Technically the thing works, but..........
well its a minor bug though, doesnt affect anything in the emulator, but i think it would be fixed.

These adjustments do not work in windowed mode for the reasons described in the readme (no card/driver I have ever come across supports the gamma ramp in windowed mode.. even though technically it could).
In the future I may add support for windowed mode by using a pixel shader (this would be optional and would obviously only work on relatively modern video cards).
The other bug I can reproduce and will try to fix for v1.8.

Yeah, I thought you were answering my question of if it would even work in windowed mode (once I *finally* remembered that it probably shouldn't work in windowed mode anyway...), but then I realized I had forgotten to ask the question! XD ... Guess I didn't need to ask.

With the v1.8 release, this problem has been fixed, but a new one has come up. When you change the settings (by any means, in either windowed or fullscreen), and you switch to fullscreen, the settings take effect, just as they should. However, when you switch back to windowed mode by either pressed Alt+Enter or Esc, the settings remain for the whole monitor. If you try to Alt+Tab, the settings disappear as they should, but the runtime stats for the game appear on the display (and one of my directional keys went crazy in-game). As an added note, changing the settings back while windowed doesn't fix it (as adjustments can't be made for windowed, so I didn't expect that to work), and closing the emulator does fix the problem.
