I'm not sure if this problem has been discussed before (I tried searching the forum, but had no luck), so here it goes. While playing Final Fantasy VII, I noticed that pSX (1.5) doesn't accurately emulate the SPU, at least as far as noise generation is concerned. I've ran side-by-side comparisons between pSX and my PlayStation, although the differences (mainly in pitch) should be quite obvious for someone who played the game (at least for someone who finished it about eight times, as I did ). I have no idea of how well the SPU is documented, but I'm well aware this could be extremely hard to get right. I'm assuming the SPU generates a variable pitch pseudo-random white noise carrier (using some unknown hardwired seed) that would be modulated by an LFO and then fed to the ADSR, but this is purely my own speculation. I'm sure pSX Author (kudos to you, whatever your real name is is already aware of this issue. Since pSX strives for accuracy, I'd just like to know if this is going to be looked at in the long term. No rush at all. Thanks in advance!

Yeah it's really hard to make the sound more accurate, especially without breaking other games. I reported this a long time ago, and pSX Author did improve the sound a lot (it sounded VERY tinny before). When fixing it, he sorta broke sound in other games, and had to fix them up as well.
