Yeah, only real bug I have found with emulator. It doesn't like resolution changes to fullscreen much. Sometimes, it will hang and although mouse moves, Alt+F4, Alt+enter etc, will not work, there is now way out of the emulator and computer has to be reset by power on/off.
The task manager seems to be brought up but it is behind the fullscreen, so it cannot be accessed, nor is there anyway to access any of the desktop or other programs.

Sounds more like a display driver issue than anything =T

would tend to agree but doesnt happen with any other game or program:)
The program crashes when switching tofullscreen sometimes, the crash results in frozen program in fullscreen mode.
PSX, also crashes after a while in window mode, but because i can terminate the dos box with mouse it is ok.

Maybe pSX is doing something the driver doesn't like, but I highly doubt it's because pSX is doing whatever it does wrongly. What graphics card are you using, and what drivers? Are they updated? If so, have you tried reverting to an older version? What about other stuff like chipset drivers and such? DirectX?
Highly doubtful that these might cause problems, but how about security software?

seiferalmasy, go to the Misc tab in Configuration and make sure 'Escape' is set to 'Quit' rather than 'Exit fullscreen' - it should be by default. That means you can exit the emulator by pressing the Escape key. Does this happen in any particular game? If not, I'd be inclined to agree with Ultima; sounds like a display driver issue. Make sure that you have current chipset drivers for your motherboard installed, that you have current display drivers for your videocard installed, and also that you have a version of DirectX 9.0c that's June 2005 or later - the current one is August of this year.

escape will not work. When it happens, the game freezes completely rendering it useless. Because it is in fullscreen, nothing from the background will come to the foreground making my computer useless;)
I have latest ATI drivers for X800 GTO. DX 9c and all other major updates like sp2
The emu itself is crashing....and on all games. Not often, but hppens much more frequently when switching to fullcreen

DX 9.0c was originally issued over two years ago, seiferalmasy. Some of the files that the emulator uses belong to more recent versions (hence the mention on the download page about ensuring you have d3dx9_26.dll). It's a good idea, therefore, to make sure that the version you're using is June 2005 or later; the easiest way to do that is just to upgrade to the latest version. Not having the right chipset drivers installed may mean that your videocard can't function correctly. Ultima: I see that great minds think alike - and so did ours... but you just pipped me to the post!

I downloaded dx a few months back. I doubt that this problem will go away regardless.
I believe it is a bug and stability issue, and will prob get resolved in future editions

Seeing as how that doesn't happen for most other people, and how a few other people with X800s have reported odd crashing and full screen problems with pSX, I still tend to lean toward it being a device/device driver issue. Anyhow, as you say, time will tell.

It's the same issue as with Tekken 3. When the finishing move is repeated the emulator will crash badly. Only a hard reset helps - most of the time.
It's not system or driver-related, it's an emulator-issue. I've tested it well. ;D

wizzel: The big difference is that seiferalmasy said it happens on any game he tries. Somehow, I doubt pSX would hard-crash on every single game without too many other people noticing...

wizzel: The big difference is that seiferalmasy said it happens on any game he tries. Somehow, I doubt pSX would hard-crash on every single game without too many other people noticing... Ok, he said that *sometimes* games crash, not *every* game. but i think it might have to do with the Tekken 3-Problem, that's why i posted it (maybe there's a connection to that bug). Some GFX-Errors appear to be there, too: Crash Bandicoot 2: You are in the first Level, let Crash stand there and he looks to the left, then to the right, but when he does that, his eyes are only black polygons. This could have some connection to the 'black hair' problem someone mentioned in another thread. But it's just an example. I have found many more bugs, but i won't tell them here. Someone cannot deny that there is some work left to do. Anyway pSX is a good emu, but it lacks compatibility. ;D

(yes I can see the smiley :-))
pSX is the most compatible Playstation emulator available to the public.
In other popular emulators you have to change plug-ins or settings most of the time to make games run properly or at all.
