Actually, I rather enjoy mucking about with plugins. I guess must be the 'instant gratification' culture - 'I want it all and I want it now' - that can't be bothered with plugins...! ;D
I have to agree that, as yet, compatibility is still better in ePSXe than pSX. Sound generally seems to be better, too. While I would agree with Sune that some of Pete's plugins are awesome, I still think that this is the area where pSX is leading: until you see the the detail that pSX can reveal, you don't realise just how much more important accuracy is than enhancement. And, of course there's pSX's ability to run games at full speed with no slow-downs, with less processor power than other emulators.
And, of course, the bottom line is that ePSXe is no longer being updated, whatever rumours may drift around. SSSPSX still seems to be more or less in development, but I think that as long as pSX Author sticks to it, pSX Emulator is the one that's going to win out - because he's demonstrated that the bottom line is that accuracy is more important than enhancement.

agree - if compatibility will be as good as in ePSXe (or better), pSX will be the numer one!

As long as pSX Author continues as he has been so far, I'd say that's inevitable.
