I think there might be something wrong with your OS seeing that you had difficulties accessing your system information.

I generally have the same specs on one of my other machines and pSX works fine on it. I would suggest reinstalling Windows to refresh your PC and anything that might be causing the problems. Make sure you back up anything important. I only suggest that if your'e having problems running other programs also or if your computer is acting weird in general. If it's just pSX, I wouldn't recommend reinstalling.

Odd behavior if he can download the archive but simply not find psxfin.exe... The only explanation I'd have for this is that an antivirus application is deleting it before he can open it (I've seen stuff like this happen before, especially with NOD32). In short, there might be outside interference from other applications. A list of running processes from Process Explorer might be nice, though I'm not sure if it'd reveal anything. Like TheCloudOfSmoke, if something funny like this started happening on my computer, I would refresh it.

Is this your own machine, help1for1me? I'm wondering if you're on a user account with fairly limited privileges. In that case, it might well be that the .exe file is there, but you're not allowed to see it.
Can you open a command line and navigate to the folder where psxfin.exe should be? If so, then type 'dir' <return> and see if it appears in the listing produced by this.

I've found that installing SP2 can fix a lot of strange problems. It replaces so many files, it's almost like a reload!

Should be careful with sp2, as it can screw up the compatibily of a lot of software. Intel Pro Wireless is one of them.

At this point, after SP2's been out for 2 years, I'd say that if a software has not been updated to work on SP2, it might not be worth using. Anyway, there were only rare cases where SP2 broke software, so the benefits brought with SP2 outweigh the *possible but unlikely* software compatility breakage.

Well not saying it does not worth it, but when you are not use to a computer, upgrading to SP2 could be a pain if some software start running or crash.
