I'm using two Logitech cordless action controllers that are plugged into an EMSUSB2 adapter. The problem is, when I try to start PSX with the adapter drivers installed. I get this error message, and the emu crashes. .\src\win\joystick.cpp.259: 'joydev[devid]->CreateEffect(GUID_ConstantForce, &ef f, &rumble[devid], NULL)' returned DIERR_GENERIC: An undetermined error occured inside the DInput subsystem .\src\win\joystick.cpp.259: 'joydev[devid]->CreateEffect(GUID_ConstantForce, &ef f, &rumble[devid], NULL)' returned DIERR_GENERIC: An undetermined error occured inside the DInput subsystem If I uninstall the drivers and just use the default windows drivers, the emu runs just fine. I don't know if this is an issue with the emu or with the drivers. I've had the adapter for years and have never had any problems using it with anything else. Besides EA sports games of course I'm using WinXP Pro SP2.

It sounds like a combination of the drivers and pSX being the problem here. My guess would be... the drivers are not conforming specifically as they should, causing pSX to not be able to properly understand the problem. And since those error messages seem to relate to the rumble feature (something pSX has always had problems with here and there), I would say that if using the very latest drivers for the adapter don't fix the problem, you may be out of luck.
Though it seems that dime333 may not come back (he hasn't logged in since he posted this), I figured I'd say something anyway, in the event that somebody else comes across this problem. Try different versions of the adapter's drivers, and make sure you've installed the very latest version of DirectX. Also, some adapter's allow the rumble settings to be adjusted in the Control Panel. In that case, it never hurts to play around with those a bit, see if changing the settings a bit solves any problems.

Thanks for the reply. Though I haven't logged in for a while, I still have been checking back for replys. I'll try to contact the authors of the EMSUSB2 adapter about the issue. Tey have been helpful before.
