I think pSX is a great program. So I decided to install it on my laptop. I installed all the required files (Direct X 9.0c). When I made pSX v1.10 run on my laptop for the first time it asked me for the language, I chose English. The emulator then crashes and I have to close it with the console. The main windows show up as usual (Console behind main window), but now the main window is transparent. You can see behind the main window and the cursor always loads (pSX crashes). Toshiba laptop* 1.1GB RAM * 3.20GB Processor * Windows XP SP2 * 1024 x 768 Resolution * 32 bit color * Pentium 4 Why does this happen? My print screen button won't work, so I drew my computer's state. Click on the link below to view screenshot. i1.tinypic.com/2qwpq1c.pngOriginal Link (BMP): www.freewebs.com/filippo333/Error.bmp

ROFL I applaud you for the picture -- really ;D
Do you have your drivers up-to-date? Does the console write anything?

Why does your Print Screen button not work, filippo333? Sounds like you may have a keyboard problem, which could, in turn, be the cause of your emulator problem.

That's the funniest thing I've seen all week! I can't stop laughing! But, to the point, what kind of video card is in your laptop? Oh, and you're sure you have a valid BIOS? EDIT: I'm still laughing!

I'm more surprised that people still use BMP files... and that Firefox supports them!! That 577K file, which downloaded at a miserable 16k/s, compressed to 3.4K as a PNG.

filippo333: Is your sound card properly installed? That's about the only thing I can think of that would crash pSX without any kind of indication of why, either in the console window or with a warning message.

Those are Italian key names aren't they, stranger90? I presume they're Italian for Alt and PrintScreen (usually rendered as something like PrtSc). filippo333 says so presumably he's English speaking and has English names on his keys.
Anyway, until he gets back to us, there's not much further this can go...

If I'm correct, "SHIFT" is under "CapLocks" in english keyboards! Sorry for my errors...

Yes, that's right, stranger90, and the PrintScreen key is usually at the top of the keyboard to the right of the Function keys. I guess if you're using an Italian keyboard in Italian surroundings, it's not that easy to find out what the English key names are.

Since the OP is using a laptop, he probably just has to toggle or hold down some kind of function key to use Prt Scr.

If someone can talk italian in this forum maybe I can understand something! My first keyboard was in english and when my father buys english games I get tottaly confused (especially adventure games)! I'm very lucky now that my knowledge is quite good, but not perfect like yours!!! Somebody can teach me some advanced English? ?

Perhaps you should start an Italian thread in Chat, stranger90 - see if you get any takers.

Well, you won't find me there, I'm afraid - not unless there's a running translation, anyway!
