I configured the Logitech Dual Action gamepad, but now when I play Final Fantasy IX, the Select button doesn't function on either the gamepad or the keyboard. I quicksaved at the moment of the first Active Time Event so I could get some help as how to rectify the problem.
I first encountered it in 1.9, so I DL'ed 1.10, but nothing changed. I tried loading it in 1.8, where I hadn't added the joystick, but I have the same problem there.
It only affects Final Fantasy IX.

Have you tried switching the padmode to test?

I was going to rant how crappy the Dual Actions are and blame it, but if you lost the select key from keyboard as well, well eh.
Did you try to remap the select button in the pSX pad config for both keyboard and pad?

I tried remapping the Select button for both inputs, and Select still doesn't work for FFIX. That fact means that the game is where the problem lies, not my inputs.

Did you try what Ultima suggested, to change the pad mode analog<->digital from the pSX config?

It works now, but I think the problem was with me, not my inputs. I think I had to wait longer than I was, so the Moogle could fly over and inform me about ATE's.
