hi, i was very happy to start to play my first (emulated) game on PSX (and for this reason i chose a probably 100% compatible game... ), when the sky fell on my head!... i found an error during the playing of the game. info: Final Fantasy Origins (SLUS_015.41) pSX 1.6 bios scph101.bin (PSONE bios) cd image used (cue/bin)
during the intro of FF1 (exactly when the FMV ends and the story begins: "when darkness..."), in the console window appear these messages: cuebin: read sector out of range (106165, max=106157) cuebin: read sector out of range (106197, max=106157) cuebin: read sector out of range (106261, max=106157) ... cuebin: read sector out of range (106453, max=106157)
apparently nothing happens in the game window. is it a worthless bug or an important issue? anyone experienced that before? ciao

probably a bad CD rip, it seems ther's some problem with your ISO image and/or cue file, like trying to read some data where there shouldn't be any
sometimes, it's not serious and you can play anyway, but try to make a new rip with a better program (like alcohol or blindwrite)

i scanned the cd image with Nero CD-DVD Speed and no errors were found. i dont think this is a cd image problem. could anyone else experience my reported problem, testing his copy of the game? thanku

I've tested FF:O many times, and nothing was wrong. Both games work flawless (and I DID saw the intro).
I also think you image must be bad.

your information is useless cause u missed out my exact problem and question. 1) is it the NTSC version (SLUS_015.41)? 2) read carefully in my previous posts to understand WHERE (in the console window) and the MOMENT (between the FMV and the story) the error occurs. 3) now check it by yourself and tell us if it happen to u too. ciao

From smegforbrain's compatibilty list:
Final Fantasy Origins SLUS_015.41 1.6 YES <-- in green
So, it would seem likely you've got a nadgered image, meude. Did you rip the image yourself?

no, i found it like it is. in any case i dont want anymore to listen to guys who blame me because, MAYBE (and i dont think that), my cd image is corrupted. im waiting for someone who checked the error i reported. HOW TO CHECK THAT: load the cd image or load the drive of FFO (NTSC), select FF1 from the main menu and simply watch the intro, taking a look at the console window. if the intro restarts and meanwhile no messages have appeared in the console window, please report that here. ciao

I can't check it; I don't have the game, meude.
However, since you "found it like it is," it's a little irrational to assume your image must be good and everyone who has played the game without your problem (and psicomaniaco specifically says he _did_ see the intro) is wrong.
If you don't want to listen, what are you doing here?
Incidentally, it also seems rather strange to me that you've started this thread by saying "i was very happy to start to play my first (emulated) game on PSX," in a post dated 'Yesterday at 18:03' (British Summer Time), using pSX version 1.6, when you've been a member of this forum since May, and have posted before about playing games in pSX.

I tested it following the directions exactly... here is my information anyway:
Game: Final Fantasy Origins (SLUS_015.41) Emulator: pSX 1.6 BIOS: scph1001.bin Medium: bin/cue ripped straight from my game disc with IsoBuster 1.9 Pro using the default settings
After sitting there and letting it loop 3 times, there was no messages reported in the console window. Everything went flawlessly.

Someone is suffering from a bad case of sand on his vagina!! C'mon, you don't have to act like this!! But since you are really bad mannered, I'll treat you like you deserve: I DID TESTED LIKE YOU SAID, AND ITS THE SAME F*CKING VERSION AS YOURS. MY CONSOLE WINDOW DIDN'T REPORTED ANY ERRORS, SO THIS MEANS THAT YOUR F*CKING ISO IS BAD, YOU MORON!!

Chill, people. Don Meu: No one else has reported such issues. billoute and psicomaniaco are not people to just ignore what you wrote, so they definitely did read and test what you wrote. If they said there's nothing wrong on their end, and the compatibility list says the same, why are you not accepting the fact that it might be a problem on your end?
