I would still like to see the avi record feature, to extend the fun of using the emulator And much like GreenImp said, instead of the FFIV, I have FF8 battle transition in mind. Would be awesome if this was fixed.

Actually an option to keep the ratio of the game while resizing the screen. Like if you press shift and you resize the screen, it would keep the aspect. or maybe a multiplier like x1 x2 x3 x4 and that x1 is kinda small etc... or maybe a zoon function from 25% to 400%

A minor thing, but when I select 'insert CD drive', the selection jumps straight to my D: drive (which is a harddrive) and expands the root.
Wouldn't it be nice if it went straight to the first available CD drive instead. Or even the last used CD drive?

Please, people, general improvements in compatibility is already "built into" the goal for pSX, so there really is no point in requesting a fix for bug A in game X or bug B in game Y, or a request to get game Z working.

My requests are..
Basic support for a parallel port Gameshark bios-- hell, Caetla would do fine, they're all the same in terms of how they boot, so they _should_ all work if one does.. (why? I'm curious-- I believe it should work, even if we don't know how the hardware button interfaces) ... yeah, rather unlikely at this point.
Basic support for native read/write of a DexDrive as described in the 1.8 thread. (Also somewhat unlikely.)
A quick menu option to get right into the memory card page of the config system so I don't have to do about 5 steps every time I want to pull a card-- for safety, I always eject a card then resume emulation a second before inserting a new one, and this adds even more steps to the whole changing cards routine.

Firehawke: To go off topic for a moment with a quick question... Would it really make any difference whether you eject the card first or just load it right away? I can't imagine that the game would make any calls to the memory cards (or even check their status) unless you're attempting to load/save. So... the act of instanting switching memory cards probably wouldn't even be noticed by the game, as it reloads the memory card data every time it needs to access them (as far as I know... I *could* be wrong). As a note, I always switch cards instantly (for testing purposes, or whenever I realize I had the wrong card loaded), and I've never come across any problems whatsoever.

To go offtopic one time myself (if you need to reply, let's open a different thread to avoid derailing this and bringing Ultima upon our heads..)
I did exactly that when I first started using pSX until the one time it bit me-- I switched without ejecting and the new card ended up having the "directory sector" so to speak overwritten by the directory from the old card. I believe it was in Metal Gear Solid, but I don't recall clearly. Any case, I've been REAL careful since. It seemed like the game didn't get a card switch notification or something..

Unworking: psxfin -a1,"C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Desktop\memcard2.bin" Working: psxfin -a1,C:\memcard2.bin So yeah, in short, can you allow full path selection (by way of quotes) for inerting memory cards from commandline? Another standing "request" I made earlier was to add support for XP theming -- really tiny thing, actually, and I probably wouldn't mind all that much if it weren't added, but when I look at the Configuration page, it irks me to see the ugly, unstyled, gray-beige-ish widgets (whenever I happen to be using themes, which isn't all the time, but when I do... ). At the moment, a .manifest file can always be used, but I rename my pSX executables (psx1.0.exe, psx1.1.exe, ..., psx1.8.exe), so it's a bit annoying to have to copy and/or rename the existing manifest file.

I'm going to agree-- it shouldn't be hard to just dump a manifest file into the build. So, I guess it's agreed that would be pSX's manifest destiny. ;P
Okay, I definitely need sleep if I'm telling horrid puns again..

An option to use NumLock/CapsLock/ScrollLock indicators instead of on-screen ones (XA/CD/etc).

I have no problem doing this, Ultima: I keep all my images/memory cards/saves etc on a different drive so I don't have to back them up if I have to reinstall Windows or whatever (I keep _all_ my data on a different drive to the OS drive). The only thing that occurs to me is that, since I'm using paths for my memcards without spaces or long names, I'm not enclosing them in quotes (just happened that way). But I can certainly select a memcard in a non-default location from the command line. Hm. I notice the one that works for you is not in quotes. I wonder if that's it? Have you tried psxfin -a1,C:\Docume~1\<username>\Desktop\memcard2.bin with <username> also written as an 8.3 name, and the path not included in quotes? edit: hope this makes sense. Brain is not functional today.

i'd like to see digital/analog switcher (something like F5 in ePSXe), option to disable the "dos window" and another option to prevent pSX from booting to bios every time:)

LMAO... If you run the Java version of my frontend program, you end up not having a DOS window (something I haven't been able to fix yet)... maybe I should post it just for those few people who don't want the DOS window up for whatever reason... lol

i don't want to sound rude, but I'd rather have that box window than using something written in java;) Good to know that there's something like that tho:)
