I still agree with a shortcut key to toggle controller-types or analog/digital controls (the function of the middle button). Besides the usual goals of furthering this emulator, I have no other requests besides having this one feature added, because it is one of the most important lacking features, which in turn is part of the overall lacking feature of more configurable shortcut keys for things like toggling controller-types, save/load states, eject and load cd/image, and adding the option for "Esc" to open the configuration menu (like in ZSNES... or just allow it to be set to any key). I am on my knees, naked, and clucking like a chicken for this overall request.

It would be awesome if the author could impliment a manual Frame Advance and Re-recording feature.
The TAS community is still waiting for a PSX emulator, and this could be the one if the author impliments these features. ;D

Alright, settle down... don't try to bait pSX Author with the fame and glory . I'm sure he'll implement those features when/if he has time to do something like that. "Re-recording"...? Wouldn't he have to implement a *recording* feature first, before going for a *re-recording* feature? Recording seems to be popular, so I'm sure that somewhere down the road (maybe a ways-away), it'll be implemented.

Hi, "Re-recording"...? Wouldn't he have to implement a *recording* feature first, before going for a *re-recording* feature? Recording seems to be popular, so I'm sure that somewhere down the road (maybe a ways-away), it'll be implemented. well, rerecording just describes the functionality of being able to use save-states while the recording process is still running. That way, you can slowly go on an perfect the movie you are currently recording. The final product won't show all these loads you made, meaning the viewer will see a perfected run through the game. This is a work of art IMHO and you'll find lots of background at tasvideos.org/To make that rerecording stuff even easier (well... not easier to do. Just easier or even possible to achieve perfection. It's about tools to achive further visual perfection) maybe add what the TAS guys call "Frame advance": Let the user bind a key to a function to let the emulation advance exactly one frame while still recording. That way, the artists (I'm calling the TAS guys artists as making a perfect TAS is creating a piece of art) can time their moves with single-frame-precision. Seeing that pSX emulator is really striving for accurate emulation, creating a working recording solution could be quite easy. The point is to just record which keys were pressed at a specific frame count into the emulation and then later play these keystrokes back. Assuming that the emulation is 100% accurate and that the movies are all started at a defined point, same key presses will yield same results, thus making the movie reproducibly replayable. Thus, implementing a rerecording feature would not just enable a bunch of artists to create art with playstation games, it would also help ensure the accuracy of the emulation. Now, I hope this did not sound all too... well... whatever. Please consider implementing a rerecording feature. Philip PS: Creating a TAS requires far more time and patience than I could ever in my life bring up. So, while I'm a passionate TAS consumer for years now, I can't call myself an artist. I'm just a passionate fan.

That much I understood. That's why I mentioned that "recording" should be implemented and perfected first. Master the basic feature before adding the advanced version of it.

Well, I would like to ask the author to disconsider my request about an option to disable the forced aspect ratio. I just found that 640x240 can be used as a perfect replacement of 320x240. So, using 640x240, I can play pSX with a pixel-perfect resolution, just like the real thing.
pSX video output is perfect the way it is. : P
Thanks.

Consider this my official apology. I didn't mean to waste anyone's time.

I have two more suggestions aside from the ones I've posted in the 1.8 suggestions thread: -I have a Saitake USB Vibration controller but I can't get it to rumble in pSX (although it works in other stuff) maybe a little enhancement in the rumble system? -not emulator related but still a suggestion: I think a feedback thread saying which suggestions pSX Author thought are good and that have high/medium/low/none priority so, maybe, it will lower the number of repeated requests.

I do have to sort-of agree with a feedback thread for all this. Besides knowing the general goals of pSX and what *won't* be implemented, it'd be sort-of nice to know what the more specific priorities are, or at least which suggestions are more likely to be implemented. I keep getting the feeling that either a lot of people have to request something, or possibly that once a suggestion is made, it gets a set priority whether 1 person or 20 people request it. Some clarification on all this would be appreciated.

Ah, yes, I'd forgotten about doing that, but some possible todos are in the Miscellaneous section of the FAQ, though it's not really all that organized... better than nothing for now, I guess

Only request I have, which plenty of people have mentioned (surely it should have some priority hehe), is to have an Analog/Digital switch button bindable to either a button on a joypad or the keyboard. I'd like for this to be applicable to both Players 1 and 2, ePSXe only has the F5 button for player 1, a 2nd player has to be stuck with whatever setup they configured from the start.

[OFFTOPIC] Actually, ePSXe has a way to change player 2's pad. You hit F6 so that the set pad becomes player 2's and then hit F5 to change between analog/digital and F6 to go back to player 1's pad. [/OFFTOPIC]

Maybe like some people said, a option that lets you input gameshark codes or cheat codes similar to the visual gameboy advance.

Would it be possible to implement access to the menus from fullscreen mode? It's just a minor thing, but it would be nice to have access without dropping back to windowed mode.

Seconded. Kega Fusion has a similar feature. That would be nice to have. Maybe a right click could let you access the menus in fullscreen mode.
