Hi, I have ePSXe and I also downloaded the .rar file of Final Fantasy VIII. In the .rar is a .bin file and a .cue file. I use WinRAR to extrace the files, however when I try to i get 2 messages:
C:\Users\Name\Desktop\Final Fantasy VIII [Disc1of4] [SLUS-00892].part11.rar: You need to start extraction from a previous volume to unpack Final Fantasy VIII [Disc1of4] [SLUS-00892].bin
and
C:\Users\Name\Desktop\Final Fantasy VIII [Disc1of4] [SLUS-00892].part11.rar: No files to extract

These messages mean that this thread is going to be locked and you're going to get a 20% warning for breaking one of (possibly more...?) the forum's rules. There is a mention about it on top of every page on these forums: I suggest you remove it and leave me talking to the walls rather than wait for a wordy-admin-fellow we have here... Oh, and these forums are for the pSX Emulator, not ePSXe; you could try ngemu.com for that (and leave these ".rar files" messages out as well or you'll end up meeting another wordy-admin there ).

To add to that... strictly speaking of .rar files, you need to have all the parts. If there is only that one file (which needs to be at least 500 MB to be the actual disc), you may be able to fix the problem of a message like that by removing the ".part11" part of the name. I'm not sure if WinRAR simply goes by that or if it actually is checking the file before it gives you that message, but if it's the latter, just remove that part as I said. If you actually *have* multiple parts (at least 11 .rar files), extract from the one that either says ".part01" or has nothing like that at all. But of course, you need to make sure that this archived/compressed file is of a disc image made from the original disc of the game that you actually own...

Hi, I have ***** and I also ******* Final Fantasy VIII. Sorry, wrong message. The correct one should be: "Hi, I have pSX (since this is a pSX forum, not EPSXE) and BOUGHT the game Final Fantasy VIII. But since my HD is small, I've compressed it in .rar files." On a side note, I think the name pSX emulator can cause some problems. People simply assume this is a forum about PSX emulation (in fact, it IS. But it isn't...). It would be lovelly if it had another name. Something like APSXE (accurate psx emulator.) would be neat. Oh, and I agree with leaving Melanogaster talking with walls. It'll be fun if they actually respond.

Melanogaster is exactly right, bperrott. The guys have covered it pretty thoroughly for me here (hmmf - no chance for me to be a "wordy-admin-fellow...").
You will get the same answer in any responsible emulation forum; certainly any support forum for an emulator, most other responsible forums besides.
Downloading Playstation games is illegal.
20% warning: if you do this again, you'll be banned. Bear in mind that you've been lucky; many forums would have banned you out of hand for this.
