I am not really a big fan either because it is too long for me. Yeah, I can tell that it is very good. No, it is too long for me! ;D

since everyones going to say ff7 i wont say it.
If your looking for a fighting game, try Mortal Kombat Trilogy. That was and still is my all time favorite. Most people are going and will say it sucks cause of the graphics. But the reason I like it is because, it has all characters playable (For example: Goro!) from 1 2 3 and ultimate for snes. They all use sprites instead of models which gives the game a old school nostalgic feeling.

I am a big rpg fan myself. some of my favorites include..
FF7 FF8 gran turismo 1 & 2 legend of dragoon (for a sony produced game, the storyline is VERY good!)
arc the lad series. a very uncommon one, but also VERY good!!! I HIGHLY recommend giving it a try. the battle system is very different, but once you get used to it, it becomes addecting! AND, one of the few games that allow continuation from a previous game save. (F.E., when you finish Arc the lad 2, you can use that save data to on arc the lad 3.) Also, there is a battle arena disk that you can use to train your monsters that you capture in ark the lad 3.

One of the best games i ever played that i haven't seen mentioned on here yet is Alundra its very similar in design to Zelda on the Super Nintendo with its top down view, a throughly enjoyable game that definitely worth playing, then theres the tomb raider and resident evil series of games theres others as well like C-12, loaded, re-loaded all worth having a go at.

Similar kind of game taste
Deffo agree with RE SH (all time greatest game ever in the world as we know it) and MGS, I would highly recommend (seen as you seem to have the same likes as me) Soul Reaver (legacy of Kain) and Parasite Eve 2, been in UK I've never seen PE1, possibly also a Dino Crisis.
As an avid PC player, PS emu's are my only way of playing some of the older games like those above, however SH and LoK series also expanded onto PC as well as other ports (in a spectacular manor), with the beauty of Soul Reaver 2 and Defiance (blood omens can be played but not necessary for story), and the amazing SH series that is currently on the 4th time round my PC as a series. SH played: lost count, SH2: 7 times only due to no real involvement in series like others, SH3: approx 15 times, SH4: only 4 times as got for last christmas then wife had a baby so not much time.
Anyway Enjoy

What's your favorite Silent Hill game fullclipkiller? Mine has to be Silent Hill 3. It's the only game that been able to scare me since childhood. Wouldv'e been a perfect game if it had better controls though. SH4 was probably my least favorite out of them all.
As for the games mentioned in the other posts, I was able to try out Castlevania: SOTN, and I kinda got bored with it after a while. I found an unopened Chrono Cross and Final Fantasies but theyr'e all 20 bucks like all of the other rpg titles that they have for the PS. I'll probably have to save up some money for a while so I can get ahold of them before they run out. And I'm going to try out the original LoK because I rented it when I first got my PlayStation but I didn't have any memory cards at the time so I couldn't go very far. It was pretty fun from what I was able to play though.

PS. Silent Hill was never ported onto PC, but there is out there an SH PC (con)version, which uses EPSXE as an installed auto config application. I will probably get hounded down for commenting on EPSXE here, however, the magic is not with the emulator, it was the only one available at the time.
The beauty of this is in the packaging. Fully integrated GFX and Audio options menus no need for BIOS and plugin searching and keyboard config page. Gamepads can be configured by emulator directly. A serious investment of time by an obviously huge SH fan (not me though)

SH3 has the 3d or rotational movement ability I thought was a nice addage. SH2 doesn't follow the story and is kinda slower than 1 and 3. 1 Is my fave to play on the whim as I can complete in less than 2 hours, but if I have a full night I also go for 3, beautiful. I must admit, I enjoy playing 4 less than all the others but the integration of Walter into the other games really makes it something special for me. Play them all in a row you'll see the constant reference to Walter, his victims and his actions in all 3 previous. This completes the series in some way. Hated with a passion the first person stuff.

In respect of the scaring but I have to agree, I found myself, especially in the dark hospital before Jacob, saving at every room because I didnt want to know what was in the next one. Movie out in US next month, skin is itching in anticipation of it coming to UK.
