Radioshack sells a psx to usb controller adapter for $10.99 www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2036260&cpJust call up your local radioshack and ask if they have catalog/SKU # 260-0304 But remember that support is not complete yet in pSX, but it works awesome in other apps/games/emulators.

It's not an exact copy of the PS1 pad but I use a Saitek P880 USB controller, and its a fantastic piece of kit. images.ldlc.fr/photos/00/00/28/04/ME0000280449_2.jpgIt's kinda like a cross between the PS1 pad and a Sega Saturn controller, with 2 shoulder buttons but with 6 frontal buttons. I use the 2 shoulder buttons for L1 & R1 while using the top right and bottom right frontal buttons for L2 and R2, that config works fine for me. The analog sticks are nice and tight with good grip to them, the controller has a good weight to it and definitely isn't a crappy plastic controller ready to break. They're pretty cheap too so if you want a good all round controller, you could do worse than to get any by Saitek.

The new Xbox 360 controller is really nice. Its got all the buttons, its built sturdy and it works with windows XP out of the box( if your comp is up to date, if not just download drivers from microsoft.) Just make sure its wired, wireless is a no go.

i'm using a Thrustmaster Dual Analog 3 : looking like a PS2 pad, but with more buttons (12 buttons).
it's cheap (less than 14€) and reliable, also exists with rumble and wireless flavor. i'm using it with all emus (even enough buttons to use it on N64 emus)

PSX to USB adapters work fine. You can use your standard controller from your console, on your PC, with no hitches. Not even any drivers to install.

The new 360 controller is crap. More than half of the wireds have a fundamental defect where the d-pad is screwed up in the left direction...the plastic d-pad isn't lined up properly with the rubber pad beneath or something...you can have the left side pressed down and nothing will register until you press down hard...press down a bit harder and you hear a pop...everytime...its a known defect.
That and the general quality of it does NOT warrant 40 dollars. I still stand by the recommendation of the Logitech Rumblepad 2.

My Venom USB to PlayStation controller adapter configures the controller under Windows XP, but version 1.2 of the emulator still doesn't recognise it when I select the controller from the list. XP treats the SCPH 1200 controller as a PC joystick, so any ideas why pSX v1-1.2 won't read it? PSX to USB adapters work fine. You can use your standard controller from your console, on your PC, with no hitches. Not even any drivers to install.

Hi, there are various controller related issues atm - I will try to work on them for the next version.

I just bought a PC Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 last week (to go with the one I bought for my PS2 a few weeks ago). Even with the little bit of testing I've done to see how well pSX performs on my system, my Cordless Rumblepad 2 has run runs flawlessly, sans rumbling. Before that, I was using that Radio Shack adapter that was mentioned earlier in the thread, along with my ol' PSX Rumblepad controller. It ran flawlessly as well for other types of emulation (and for espxe). But I might pull those back out to test with pSX as well, along with popping in the PS2 Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 for a quick check too. Never hurts to find out.
