So here it is. Vote for your favorite Fire Emblem game, discuss translations in the works... anything related to Fire Emblem is welcome here. It's such a great series, I couldn't help but make a poll for it. In addition, I guess I'll add a few notes to the various games, in case they are needed. - Fire Emblem 1: Ankokuryu to Hikari no Tsurugi (NES, Japan) - Fire Emblem 2: Gaiden (NES, Japan) - Fire Emblem 3: Monshou no Nazo (SNES, Japan) - Fire Emblem 4: Seisen no Keifu (SNES, Japan) - Fire Emblem 5: Thracia 776 (SNES, Japan) - Fire Emblem 6: Fuuin no Tsurugi (GBA, Japan) - Fire Emblem 7: Rekka no Tsurugi (GBA, no subtitle in US) - Fire Emblem 8: Seika no Kouseki (GBA, "Sacred Stones" in US) - Fire Emblem 9: Souen no Kiseki (GC, "Path of Radiance" in US) - BS Fire Emblem: Akaneia Senki Hen (SFC/BSX, Japan) - Fire Emblem 10: (- no title yet -) (Wii) Edit: Personally, I liked Fire Emblem 4 the best. I haven't played FE5, but out of all the rest, FE4 was a very good challenge (playing to not lose any characters, of course ), and I very much liked all the various features of the game, like being able to pay to repair weapons/items, a battle arena in your castle (which if you lose in, your character *doesn't* die), the vast array of special skills, the storyline... the list just goes on. The most recent ones (released in US also) pale in comparison.

Since i do only know fe 6-9 (6only because of a fan-translation) I like 7 the most because of the great story . I don´t have any japanese knowledge so i can´t (sadly) play the others..

To my recollection, isn't the fan translation still incomplete? I have the patch, but I haven't had a chance to test it. I still gotta get around to trying FE5 one of these days, as I suspect it may be even better than FE4.

FE4 is the best FE ever. And I don't know if the "Thracia 776 ROM Translation Project" is still active. Since I don't like Prince Leaf and he will never be a Sigurd. FE4 has a soft spot in my heart. Oh yes, the current FE5 patch is horrible

Sigurd is such an awesome character, right from the start of the game. That project has been dead for at least a year now, unless they're continuing their work in complete secrecy (as they haven't actually said anything about stopping, as far as I've seen). I'm still hoping for a complete patch of FE4, but I've enjoyed the game a few times even without a complete one. It's just that good.

Oh I just think it's a pity that the ending isn't translated...I just imagined what they were saying.

Fire Emblem 8 I had a big problem with... I got to Chapter 20 thinking there was a lot more to go in the game, and was vastly disappointed to find out I was pretty much at the end of the game. It was way too short, especially considering that Fire Emblem 7 was around 30 chapters. If FE8 had vastly improved graphics or a lot more to it, I could understand it being shorter. But it had a couple new weapons, and very slightly improved graphics, plus the addition of a "world map". Certainly not enough to shorten a game by about 30% to the previous installment of the series, especially since they were both GBA games (so no excuse of different systems either). Had FE8's length been doubled, it would've been a very awesome game. Playing through both characters could be used as an excuse, but FE7 had that too. Disappointing, is all I can say about how they handled the length of the game.

You forget the extra maps with a tower or something like that^^ However fe8 was far to easy... only my two mainchars were able to kill the last boss together (first the girl, than her brother^^). I had VERY good other chars with great supports, maxed stats etc thanks to the optional tower...

Yeah, the optional tower was nice, but it made an already easy game way too easy. I didn't even bother with the tower the first time through, because I figured I'd go run through it a bit if I came across a chapter that was difficult... but that never happened.
