Anyone noticed that M$ are offering DIY XBox games kits? Apparently the software has been trialling in several UK Universities and has now been released. I saw the story on the BBC News and followed their link to M$. Want one, GM?

Yep. XNA Game Studio's actually been in public beta testing for a while now. It's rather stupid that (IIRC) you need to pay a membership fee to actually be able to distribute your game to other XBOX 360 users, but oh well =\

Well, well. Just saw that on the Auntie site, so I thought I'd share it...

Maybe I'll take a look at it... Though I do dislike Xbox in general...

You can't resist the temptation to get your sticky fingers in there, hmmm?

Something else that's annoying is that it requires .NET. Have I ever mentioned my distaste for .NET? It's a shame that the language is booming right now, though, so I suppose knowing .NET would be a good idea if one wants to make himself more attractive on the job market =T

You're not the only one, Ultima. .net's a major part of the reason (apart from overall overbloat) why I've never gone for the current crop of Catalyst drivers for the Radeons I've had. So if GM's going to give them a go, he'll need .net, will he? Heh, heh, heh...

Don't worry, GM. They tell me it can be cured - we'll stand by you!

LMFAO! I'm willing to bet that pSX will have near-perfect PS2 emulation long before an XBox 360 emulator is written that can play more than one game.

With a 3-core PowerPC-like processor, each core clocked at 3.2GHz (meaning the processor effectively clocks in at 9.6GHz), I don't see XBOX 360 emulation happening in the next (even) 10 years. Maybe some awesome coder will come along and prove me wrong, but yah, highly improbable.
