The title should explain it all...if not then here it is. Suggest/Recommend a psx game...one you played and should be a "NOT MISS" type of game.
One game that should be a "NOT MISS" type would be...
Brave Fencer Musashi...this game is incredibly fun and entertaining. A must have or must play...one of the best action/adventure/rpg games for the psx/psone...EVER!

Vagrant Story, Castlevania Symphony of the Night.
I really really wish that Konami would make a bold move and make a new 2D Castlevania for one of the next gen consoles (preferably for X360) in the SotN mold. I'd buy it in an instant. I tire of playing this stuff on handhelds.

For a roleplaying game one need look no further than Suikoden II. Lovely soundtrack and visuals, coupled with a fairly entertaining story, and lots of interesting though optional minutiae. It's otherwise fairly standard fare gameplay-wise, but I like to think that its expansiveness and surprising cohesiveness go a long way to making it greater than the sum of its parts. As far as action games go, I'd probably recommend Metal Gear Solid and especially the "VR missions" disc. The latter is especially fun as a quick, often challenging diversion. I guess I just like Konami games.

starocean 2 of course Furthermore I think the lunar games should be "not to miss" games as well. ("silver star story" and "eternal blue") Maybe you should like rpg´s or the "huge" text amount (not too much imho )may "kill" you. p.s.: For me there can't be too much text in a game, but there are enough people who won't agree with that

Well, instead of a game, I'll suggest a series: Tomb Raider. Although I know RPGs will cover this thread from top to bottom, I still think someone out there may agree with me on this topic. Not sure who that may be, though...

Of the "original" Tomb Raider series I only liked the first one. Mainly because all that came after that was pretty much the same, and it got boring pretty fast. The newest game is quite a bit fresher than any of the older sequels. But alas, it's not for PSX. Also, Front Mission 3, Legacy of Kain, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, Fear Effect, Fear Effect 2, Resident Evil series, Silent Hill.

Lets see:
-Harvest Moon: Back to Nature = Great farm/life simulator, without realism, but with lots of fun stuff to do. There are enough secrets to keep you hooked to the end, and lots of replay value, five girls you can marry and some fun mini-games. Oh, and there's also the ability to play forever after you beat the game.
-Valkyrie Profile = A very weird RPG, but very good. Has a great storyline, and its packed with toons of mini-stories. The battle system is fantastic and the soundtrack is one of the best ones ever (my favorite game ever made).
-Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete = A short RPG, but very good while it lasts. Its the type of game you can play again and again and never get bored of it.
-Breath of Fire 3 = FANTASTIC RPG with a simple but effective battle system. You can transform into a dragon (and there are LOTS of diferent forms) and play with your character as a kid and as a teenager (like Zelda OOT). The mini-games are also great: you can go fishing (not only is fun like hell, its very usefull to the game) and even build the fairy world.
-Crash Bandicoot (all three) = Like Mario, but with a very weird character. The games are in 3D, but with a 2Dish gameplay. The levels have a great design, and can be very varied.
-Syphon Filter = As realistic as an action game can be on the PSX, this one plays like Medal of Honor, but using a 3rd person perspective. Its quite realistic (except the boss fights) and has an interactive enviorement (you can shoot lamps to make everything dark so that the enemies can't see you). The graphics are a bit ugly, but this doesn't ruin the game.
-Castlevania: SoTN = I don't need to say anything here, right?? Well, only this: this game has soooooo many secrets that you actually need to find secret areas to be able to see the real last boss and the real ending!
Now I'll talk about a game that 95% of the players seems to hate, but FOR ME its a must have game. But I recomend that you rent it first.
-SaGa Frontier = A RPG made by Square, this one can be considered very underrated. For me, its a must have specially because of the replay value. You can play seven VERY diferent storylines, each one with its own endings (each story has multiple endings, btw). The gameplay is great, but might be weird for some (specially if you never played Romancing SaGa on the snes).

Go for Crash Bandicoot series, (except for the crappy spin-offs) Final Fantasy IX, Rayman, Spyro 2, Spyro 3, (Don't bother with Spyro an original garbage title compared to its successors) all those titles are really good. And try some shooters! I'm sure there is some good ones.

aside from the ones already mentioned, Wild 9 is a pretty cool and funny platformer from Shiny, the creators of Earthworm Jim.

I've got a copy somewhere, but wasn't very taken with it - I bought it when I first got a Playstation, mistaking it for Wild Arms.
