That wasn't over the last week, Mika. Besides, how long does it take to make a post?

How long does it take to test an emulator? Admit it, you are only trying to find excuses!

No, it will take a while because I'll have to compile it, and I _am_ busy ATM. Trying bsnes won't just need time, it'll need uninterrupted time, and that's what I don't seem to have ATM.

...I found that it needed: - x-dev (some package in that meta-package, but I wasn't sure which, so I just installed the entire thing)... Do you actually need to install the x-dev dummy package, Ultima, or does the x11proto-core-dev package that deprecates it do the job (in which case, I'm set to go)?

No, it will take a while because I'll have to compile it, and I _am_ busy ATM. Didn't you push it back even when you were still primarily using windows? ;D I should get my dualboot machine back up. Damn failing magnetic storage keeping a brother down.

Don't think so: it didn't need compiling for Windows.

No need to sound so serious dude. I'm just screwing around. In other news, 0.021 (maintenance release) is out.

I change the title to bsnes v0.021 released
Oh yea that little lag is gone in this version where the Der Langrisser V1.1 (J)(English-translate) play perfect. Thanks Byuu.

Oh, I could have, I just wasn't sure if you could take it anymore. ;D bsnes is slowly becoming my favourite snes emulator. If only I actually had the time to play more.

Hmm... pretty much the same speed, and I notice that the cheat editor is back again.
One thing that seemed odd. Setting it to Scale3x with Linear HQ2x filtering on (mainly to make sure it couldn't run at 60 fps at all times), I started up Chrono Trigger. By the time the "Trigger" part of the title flies onto the screen, both v0.020 and v0.021 run at 47 fps for me. That makes sense. What doesn't make sense is that before that, v0.020 starts out at about 50 fps and makes an inverse exponential progression towards 58 fps before above-mentioned event. However, v0.021 starts out at 60 fps and stays there (though with three somewhat equally-distanced drops to 57 fps) until the above-mentioned event.
Now, I'm not bringing this up because it's any kind of problem or anything. I was just wondering, purely out of curiousity, if anybody could explain the specifics of what kind of change would affect the speed of showing a large pendulum swinging back and forth on the screen (and mostly off for the first couple swings), but not affect a word waving up and down as it slides onto the screen. Does it have to do with code relating to resizing pictures (since the pendulum is enlarged at first from its normal size, and is slowly resized down to its actual size)? Or does it maybe relate to the fact that parts of the pendulum are constantly going on and off the screen?

Do you actually need to install the x-dev dummy package, Ultima, or does the x11proto-core-dev package that deprecates it do the job (in which case, I'm set to go)? Yah, the deprecated package should simply point to the newer one, so it should be the same.

You can download the source and compile it for your system, kinghanco. Look in the documentation in the file you download; there should be instructions for compiling and installing in the package - read it through and make sure all dependencies are satisfied first. You may have noticed a little contretemps between me & Mika above because I've been meaning to do that but haven't got round to it yet - at Mika...
