So I was looking at the FAQ for no apparent reason and saw this..
Q. I'm having problems with game X! What should I do? A. Check the compatibility list and search the forums. Make a compatibility report if you can't find anything about it, but be sure to read this thread before doing so.
And I thought that maybe it would be a good idea to make a separate FAQ for the games that get asked about A LOT, such as Legend of Dragoon, Xenogears and so on.
I know the information is right there in the compatibility list, but if you look at the amount of Legend of Dragoon threads it's quite overwhelming.
So maybe a quick copy'n paste job is in order to make a game-specific FAQ section? Couldn't hurt.
What do you think guys?

Well, it might be worth doing. On the other hand, it'd come down to what games end up on that list, and if we include too many, it could be a lot of work.
And as good an idea as it may be, odds are good that the work put into it might not pay off. Could be worth a shot though. I suppose if nobody else starts one, I could always do so. A lot of the "collective data threads" seem to end up falling to me anyway... XD

It would be easier if there was a way to see which games get asked about the most. We'll have to make a list from memory.
What I had in mind was just a simple top five, nothing fancy, just copy straight from the compatibility list what you have to do to get them to work. Or if they don't work at all (though I don't think there are any games among the top 5 most asked about that don't work at all).
Anyway, Legend of Dragoon and Xenogears come to mind but after those two...?

Final Fantasy IX would go on that list for sure. Final Fantasy VII would be a good choice too. Can't think of any others off the top of my head that get mentioned all too often.
Also, maybe Final Fantasy VIII, since that one has been questioned a few times too.

heh, I was going to say "..and probably some Final Fantasy games" but I wasn't sure because whenever I see double F's and roman numerals, it all blurs together and I can no longer see what's what...so I'm glad you've got the I's and the V's down. I guess that's it then, all that's left is to copy the info from the compatibility list and post the thread. Who will do it...?

Well, I'm starting on it now. I'm going to include information from the Compatibility lists, as well as provide links to threads bearing questions/answers about these games, and summarizations of more details on the game if possible.
When I'm done, if I miss something or you just feel something should be added to it, feel free to post about it so the first post can be modified accordingly.

Hey GM, you did a really good job, it's way better than I imagined it.
I will try to think of other games to include but I think we (well, you) pretty much nailed the top five.
Maybe smeg will have something to say about it when he sees it.

^^ Thank you. I really appreciate that.
Yeah, considering how much work he's put into the compatibility list, I'm sure he might have some insight into games he's seen mentioned a lot. Hopefully he notices it when he comes on.
