What's special about this emulator? I've not actually ever heard anything about it, so I'm not sure what the difference is between it and pSX.

It's a parallel to pSX in that it's pluginless, 108, and many people say its compatibility is as good or better than pSX. Whichever is actually better, it's certain that these two emulators are by far the most compatible of Playstation emulators.
It has a number of other features, including the option of running with a built-in BIOS, although this doesn't, apparently, work nearly as well as using a Playstation BIOS.
Downsides are that, being Japanese developed, it's hard for most people to understand how to use it, and there is only a Windows version - very much the opposite of pSX, which is one of the easiest Playstation emulators to use, and also has a Linux version.
