curious what kind of speed you guys are getting and with what specs. especially chrono cross.
i know the emulator isn't perfect by any measure but it's damn good and i haven't got a complaint with the speed at all but it just seems like it should be faster for my particular system.
i am running an athlon xp 3000+ with a geforce 6600 and a gig of ram

The normal speed/framerate for PS games are 60.0 THerefore, regardless of how good your comp is, the frame rate will always be around 60. However, chrono cross seems to play better with 65. I only know that you can adjust that in epsxe.

your somewhat right and wrong... NTSC games run at 60 and PAL games run at 50 the reason for chrono cross runnning better at 65 is cause the playstation, in truth, was rather rubbish with speed, and there for, any games running slightly faster will play better (as long as it dont make it go choppy/sound screw up and so on)

I tested Rayman pal version on ePSXe. It run better speed on ePSXe instead pSX.

I'm running an AMD Athlon 550MHz, 384 megs of RAM, and a 64 meg video card (although as I just found it, it's useless right now), all games run at about 50% speed (30 FPS). The menu's (when there isn't much to display or process) run at full speed.

Are you running pSX windowed or in fullscreen mode?

It runs at about the same on either one for me.

2.9Ghz Processor 256mgbit gfx (Nvidia 6200, my 6800GT busted >_<) 1GIG ram 800mhz FBS
So far any game I've run, windowed or full screen runs flawlessly, except games that are not support obviously. 60 FPS for pSX games is not a problem for me, sometimes I used to skip stuff on ePSXE going at 100-200fps but thats really not a big deal.

hrm... so you are using a p4...
i would liek to get a group of people together to test the performance differences between variously clocked athlons and pentium 4's...
anyone game?

There seems to be no point in doing that. The last thing anyone wants is to start some fanboy contest under which processor pSX runs better/faster. The emu runs exceptionally well on a high end system, if anything people with lower grade computers should post their spex and tell the author whether the system runs ok/good/ or has some problems that he may be able to fix so everyone can run their favorite games smoothly.

no point? the scenario you just outlined makes it a great one, wouldn't you think? there is potentially alot the author could learn just from knowing the results of my test

Amd Athlon XP 3200+ 1 gig of ram Sound Blaster Audigy Xp Gamer Nvidia GeForce 6800LE 128mb AGP
No problems here full screen. Had speed issues with games running slow when windowed for some reason, but since I don't play in windowed mode it doesn't bother me.
