Hello, all. Im new here, i just regitered because i have one big problem. In final fantasy 9 at the end of 3.cd the video, where trance kuja destroyes everything... At the end of video, my emulator turns off automaticaly. In command window of EPSXE it writes Closing spu... closing gpu... closing ISO system. I think maybe one of you could just load it trough the EPSXE (these are my sstate from folder epsxe) rapidshare.com/files/127263650/sstates.rar.htmlload state 3 and watch the video (about 30 sec) and then save the game somewhere and send the sstate back to me in this topic... I would be gratefull

I'm sure someone may help you and all... But it should be noted that this forum has nothing to do with EPSXE. This is "pSX Emulator" home.

Welcome to the forums. I'm sorry that your are having issues with ePSXe, but this forum (as psicomaniaco said) is for pSX and we only provide support for pSX. You will need to check the ePSXe website for help and a support forum.

I've finished FF9 in pSX, so you should try it. BTW, you can use your EPSXE memory cards on pSX. And one more thing: I did finished FF9 on EPSXE 1.5.2 years ago. So I assure the game is playable on THAT version. Also, don't use save states a lot. This is true for all emulators, since save states will also save bugs that become accumulated on a single playthrouth. Instead, load from a memory card once in a while.

Just finished FFIX a week or two ago with absolutely no issues of any kind. I'd say FFIX is almost (if not completely) perfect under pSX. Of course, having not used my PlayStation in forever, I can't be too sure if there are minor differences that my eyes failed to catch, but obviously, there wasn't anything wrong enough for me to notice Just reaffirming the fact that you'd have no trouble if you used pSX instead of ePSXe... Then again, I haven't tried ePSXe 1.7, so who knows how it runs nowadays.

I can't be too sure if there are minor differences that my eyes failed to catch How about ears? Of what I have tested, pretty much all square games have some very minor sound problems. Most are not really noticable unless you really take your time to listen and compare to original, but are there regardless. On the other hand, some, while still minor, are more obvious. Crazy Square and their vacky sound drivers.

Hah, I had a feeling someone would catch me on the audio thing, but I was too lazy to care I might've been slightly overzealous with my evaluation in that I didn't pay much notice to looking for difference in how the game sounded under pSX vs PSX. For one thing, that's even more difficult to notice than visual differences, and also, I was (for the most part) playing the game using crappy headphones xD

Indeed. The audio differences are quite insignificant and extremely hard to notice in most of the games, FF9 included. And don't really affect playability one bit.

This has been a problem in the past, however for v1.11-1.12 the random hangings were no longer occurring. Try using a PAL bios.

The emulator allows you to switch to another bios if you have more than one to choose from. But we cannot help you on what do if you only have an NTSC bios to work from.
