When I say slowing, I mean everything is at a halt. Then it will kick in for a second, then stop again. I can get out of it by just hitting ALT + F4 once cause once it kicks in, it will just close the program and run normally again. I ran the same bios under epsxe and it plays games with no problem. But the thing is, I don't like the way epsxe works. This is the system I'm running it on. h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01296330&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&jumpid=reg_R1002_USENI know it's a laptop and the video card is integreted etc. etc. but with epsxe I'm able to run games flawlessly on it. Just as I said, I don't like the way epsxe works.

Your specs are very much more than sufficient. Could you describe a little better what exactly happens? You say it slows everything, then you seem to be implying some stop-and-go problems with pSX. Are you basically saying that once pSX starts up, it runs up the processor to 100% (causing other programs to respond very poorly) and that despite it taking up the whole processor during that time, it still lags to the point that it gets extremely slow and jerky?
Does this happen as soon as pSX starts, or a few seconds in maybe? How long does it last, and when does it stop? Does it happen whether you load a game or go to the PS1 BIOS menu, or just one of them? Does the console (DOS) window throw any errors or messages while this is happening? Have you tried using a different BIOS file in case it's a problem with the BIOS and not pSX (if there's a small error in the BIOS, pSX could very well be more sensitive to it than ePSXe, explaining the difference).

Testing it out a second time it seems to run the CPU usage up to 100% as soon as I have it load the bios file. If I just run the program and not have a bios file in the bios folder, it will run normally without using 100% of the CPU but it will give me the error I need a bios file to load it.

Hrm. Have you updated your system drivers (chipset and video card)? Have you updated DirectX?

Yeah... I sort-of gave up on asking questions after he failed to answer most of the first ones I already asked... >.>
