Hello. I'm new (and I had problems to register) I have a lot of games, but mi Play Station died long time ago. Recently I bought a PC gamepad and I wanted to play my games again and all those games I never bought. I have a few images on my hard drive and they are taking a lot of space. I know that pSX includes a CDZ compressor and I want to use it. I also read about it can compress multi-file image into one small CDZ. But when i want to compress 4 files (CCD, CUE, IMG and SUB) into one CDZ, I only can choose one file not all of them. How can I compress multi_file images into one CDZ?I read "readme.txt" file and I have another question. If I convert CDZ back to original imeges file, Can I get the same files? or just BIN/CUE?If the anser is jus BIN/CUE. I lose data? Where goes SUB files?I hope anybody could helpme because I´m a newby Sorry if the subject was answered before. Cheers

Just choose the CCD. The compressor will compress the CCD, SUB and IMG altogether into one single CDZ file.
For BIN/CUE's just choose CUE, for MDF/MDS just choose MDS.

Hi,
I also have a small question about CDZ. (a very theoretical one even)
Would CDZ-compression in theory be useful for PS2 DVD images?
I am aware that pSX does not yet support ps2 emulation and that this is not a priority for future releases... But I am just curious what CDZ compression can do.

I wouldn't expect the file format itself to be too particular about the images converted into it. From what I can gather about the CDZ converter, it requires specific knowledge of the disc image format. The reason is that CDZ compression occurs on a sector basis, and since different image formats can store data differently, the CDZ converter would likely need to have some logic built in to figure out where/how sectors are stored in a particular format. So to answer your question: in theory, yes the CDZ converter can probably be made to support PS2 game images while retaining the same advantages. I don't know if it already does support it though, since I'm not familiar with the image formats. So, for example, I don't know if MDF/MDS support for the converter would automatically extend from CD images to DVD images, or if there would need to be further changes made in the converter for that to work out.
