So, I'm working on a ps1idfetcher (will work for ps2/3/psp, gamecube too) together with @ruantec. It currently works with all image formats except for the compressed ones, as cdz basically is the only compressed image format that works on an emulator (only pSX as far as I know) I'd like to get some info on the format, to fetch out the id from it.
The IDfetcher will be released as soon as everything runs stable, and will be a very nice step towards proper profile based game handling. And if a emulator doesn't take advantage of that, at least the frontends out there will do.
Thx in advance.
Greetings, Zerosan.
So, hopefully, someone who knows a bit more about cdz can tell me how to get the information I need, I basically need the first 500kb of the image file, uncompressed.

All I recall hearing about it, is that it's customized zlib compression written by pSX Author himself. He hasn't released any useful information on it as far as I know, though you could try a thorough search of the forums if you feel I might be forgetting something.
If you know anything about compression algorithms, you could always use that knowledge and the zlib source files to see if you can figure out enough of the custom work done to CDZ to decompress and extract the information you need.
