I'm using the psxpad driver and a DualShock2 controller. I have confirmed that rumble is working properly in the driver. However, when I start pSX, after the "Licensed by Sony Computer Entertainment America" screen, the rumble goes on and stays on. I tried it with Chrono Cross, and even going into the pause screen (for Chrono Cross) and toggling Vibration function does absolutely nothing. I have to go into the controller configuration and uncheck rumble for it to stop. The gamepad mode in pSX I am using is DualShock. It looks like you have made progress, though, since I can now control the game in this mode.

I noticed this with my Main PC, but differently. Rumble doesn't work most of the time, but when it does, its once or twice and sticks on. But on another PC with the driver freshly installed rumble work perfectly. Today when I get around to it, I'm going to do a fresh install of the controller driver. You should try that too.

I have the same problem. It just goes on and stays on. A fresh driver install didn't fix the problem. Not for me anyway.
I'm using PSX to USB Converter and a PS2 Dualshock2 pad.
Any other ideas?

With me it's working perfectly fine. Using Logitech Rumblepad 2 with Dualshock scph-1200 setting. Doing Chrono Cross atm. Also i have the latest Logitech Profiler drivers. OFFTOPIC but cannot resist: The pad uses Immersion Force Feedback Technology and they HAVE paid the licence fees unlike our friend SONY. Haha! ;D
