I turned the original ridge racer disk into a image file and the music tracks was a bit jumpy but the game worked, I used frame skip witch worked on the music but when it came to the race the screen went blank,
Do i need a faster MZ speed?, I ownly have 800mz at the moment
I also tryed your new Psx!, Nice!!!.
So it's half way there thanks!.

Try defragmenting your hard drive. Since you're running it from an image the emulator relies on fast hard drive access to use streaming media such as FMVs, XA audio and CD audio from the image. If the image is in multiple fragments on the drive then that might be why the audio tracks are skipping as the hard drive is trying to find all of the fragments and read the data from them.
Your 800mhz processor sounds like it has more then enough power to run pSX as it does not use that much processor power in the first place. If you defragment your hard drive and the audio tracks are still skipping then this could actually be a bug in the emulator or if the music tracks are CD audio tracks then maybe they were ripped from the disc wrong. Since CDDA has no error detection it is easy for a drive to make a mistake when reading from these tracks.
I don't have a copy of Ridge Racer myself to test but I will see if I can get one and see if I have the same problems as you do.
