I have this "CD","MR" and other letters flickering in the 2 games I have tested so far (FF9 and Chrono Cross).
This thing is really annoying !!!

Yeah - sorry about that - I did mean to remove that at some point but never got around to it. They will be removed in the next version. In theory you could get around it using a resource editor to extract font.bmp and make it all black... I'll leave that as an excersie to someone really bored though

FF IX Euro is protected with Libcrypt (using subchannel datas to get a "magic key"). Subchannel data isn't avaiable in a bin/iso file, so without cracking it, you won't be able to play FF IX. Haha, bin+cue for the lose! clonecd wins.

I think it is fun to look at "CD","MR" but yeah it is annoying, perhaps. But I think it is nice and very different from any emus. It is up to you if you want to remove it. I think it is neat and creative, thought.

Any chance to not fully remove them and just let the user decide to enable it or not via the main menu, editing the ini file, a hotkey or whatever ? Not that it really matter but sometimes i like to have an eye on what's going on in game (Cd access , memcard check , etc... ) ;D

im still having problems getting this new emu to run my game at all but if you obtained the ff9 .img file then i know it works in epsxe. i think the big deal is about how to convert it to the bin/cue format.
magiciso according to psx author screws it up. and cd mage wont accept .img files. so im pretty stuck too .

I also get the famous black screen when I use my cracked version of FF9 PAL french in bin/cue... I got the "Toxic" crack on Ngemu.com and it works on ePSXe. I made my iso from the original cd with cdrwin.
any ideas? perhaps I should try another crack

to apply the crack, use PPF-o-matic which you can find with google easily

Try cdrwin as it always produces a compatible bin/cue format
You would have to mount it with a program such as daemon tools(freeware) or alcohol 120

Most Pal games are more likely to have protection on them from what ive read

Try cdrwin as it always produces a compatible bin/cue format I made my iso from the original cd with cdrwin. I just tried to play my FFIX with daemon tools and "insert image drive" and it didn't work . it works with xenogears. there is a protection but, as I said, I cracked it and my bin/cue can work on epsxe without the subchannel reading. However, it doesn't work with PSX... anyway thank you for your advises
