Hi,
I've just got this emulator, and i've only so far tried to run FFIX on it. However when I start it up, it'll go through the BIOS introduction like it should do, but then "CD" starts flickering in the bottom left corner, the rest of the screen goes black and it eventually jumps back into the PSX boot screen (Where you can access the memory cards etc).
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hello,
It sounds like you are either trying to read from a CD drive (which doesn't quite work atm). Or your .cue/.bin is corrupt. FF9 definately works (in fact I have completed it on this emu!).

Hi,
I haven't tried doing it from the real CD (mainly due to the amount of people that said it doesn't work!) so i'm re-writing the .bin with another program (ISObuster), i'll lket you know if it works.

...
ISOBuster make a .cue, but not the .bin!!! I'll try the one you suggested.

Well, I'd recommend that you use CDRWIn. In fact, I have a guide I've wrote on my site like over a year ago. I'll transfer it here in a few.

Or maybe he has the PAL version of FF9 which requires cracking to run in any PSX emu from what I remember.

Hello I've got the same problem over here with final fantasy XI. After the bios loading screen there's just a black screen with "cd" flashing in the lower left corner. I'm using a .bin/.cue. I also tried patching an .iso with the proper ppf-patch and then converting that to a .bin file ... but still the same problems. Other games (xenogears, final fantasy VII ...) run fine. Any help is really appreciated ^^

Hey,
Knureck is correct, I am using the PAL version. I have now tried it patched and unpatched and regardless of what I try the result is always the same.

Its very probable that the PAL version doesn't work then - sorry. The NTSC one definately works though.
I'll try to get this at some point and find out why it doesn't work...

Appreciated. I'll let you know if I somehow get lucky (from current runs, unlikely)

Are you using the PAL BIOS?

FF IX Euro is protected with Libcrypt (using subchannel datas to get a "magic key"). Subchannel data isn't avaiable in a bin/iso file, so without cracking it, you won't be able to play FF IX.
