Did you try to rename the file to .mcd or .mcr?

I try renaming it, but it still declars it as a .bin file. Do you need to use a program to rename a .bin file.
- Sorry to be so dumb. But i got it. Thanks anyways though

As an added note, a memory card created and used with pSX *can* be transferred to a real memory card. All you have to do is have a device to do the transfer (I have a DexDrive), and a program that can convert from .mcd/.mcr to the device's format (.gme in this case). Then use the device's program that it comes with to put the .gme file onto the memory card. I've done it a few times when I wanted to test something on a real Playstation using my memory card saves from the emulator.

Does any of the tools support conversion to bin? I would like to usa a memcard from another emu (Well actually 2 diff. emus, one in .gme and on in .vgs) I downloaded memcards you see.
Best Regards
Marius Malmstrom
Edit: Sorry, I got it, didn't know pSX emu supported bleem.

It wouldn't exactly have been too difficult to check out the all in one converter... anyhow, it does support those formats, but oh well.

Hi, i bought two days ago a memory card converter from ps2 to pc. It works with my PS1 memory cards, it creates a file .pss, if renamed to .bin i can load my saves in emulator, it's fantastic, i can load my save in my computer. Now i can see my ff7 save again..... The name of the converter, i'm not sure, i think it's "ps2 ems memory adaptor". I hope you can enjoy your saves like i'm doing now.
P.D.: Sorry for my bad english.

I might be interested in something like this. You just got it and you don't have the package that has the exact name on it? Where'd you buy it from? Link? If it's real good, I might edit it in the first post of this sticky.

He must be referring to the "PS2 Memory Card Adaptor", which can be found here. It is $17, and the link cable you need to buy with it (so it seems) is called the PS2 Link Cable (further down the list) and is $7. A few of these things (included this memory card product) actually looks worth getting. That Trio Linker Plus at the bottom of the list looks like it could be promising...

Will this thing work on a PS1 or are you supposed put your PS1 memory card in through the adapter into your PS2? My PS2 died on me during a failed attempt to install a modchip in it so all I can only use is my old PlayStaion.

Hi, bad luck, you need the PS2 to make it work, after all, it's a ps2 memory converter that works with ps1, i doubt it works with ps1.

I try renaming it, but it still declars it as a .bin file. You need to turn off "hide extensions for known file types" (or whatever the wording is) in folder options to rename file extensions registered with the system. Otherwise you'll end up with a file named blabla.mcr.bin (with the .bin part hidden).

I don't understand anything you guys are saying...
How do you convert your own memory card? There's no slot to put it in in your computer..
I'm not really a computer wiz kid, sorry. Simpler terms please. I'm starting a new game, so I need to make a new memory card. I'm not using my real one.
But out of curiosity, how do you put the info from your own memory card into the computer? Don't you need to stick the card in some slot?
I really want to start playing, so respond ASAP please. Thank you.

pSX, as with all Windows/Linux etc Playstation emulators, uses virtual memory cards, not real ones. Thus you can convert them to different formats and edit them as you like: see Aldo's Tools for several memory card editors/convertors for Windows. I don't know if there are any for Linux, but pSX emulates the Playstation's own built-in memory card editor, so you can use that. *Edit: you can't change formats with the Playstation editor, but you can edit your cards.* There are also devices you can buy that you can plug real memory cards into and read/write to them with a computer. Ask Gamesoul Master - or any of several other people. With these you can edit your real memory cards (which you can also do with a Playstation) and import them to your computer to use with your emulators, or export to them from your emulator virtual cards so you can use your emulator saves with your Playstation. If you want to make your own virtual memory cards (you can have as many as you want) READ THE FAQ!
